Get Well & Encouragement

Whooo Hoo! I finally have new outlets and new lighting in my scrap room, so I can start cleaning it up and organizing it now! This has me all motivated, so I cleaned off two work tables/desks and finished things that were lying on the desk undone. All this excitement got me all motivated for making cards, too!

Today I decided to do a get well/encouragement card, but I wanted to try a new fold... a Z fold card. Plus, I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could make a sketch work on a Z fold card. I used the sketch (clean and simple one) from Priscilla's Styles and from Day 119 at 365 Cards. (I'm not sure if this qualifies in their opinion, but I feel like it does, since it resembles the sketch when the card is closed) I love the look of it, and it was very simple to do!

For this card, I used a new (to me) image by C. C. Designs. Isn't she just too cute?! How could she not make anyone feel better?

I went with red and white for this card, and used three different shades of red. The background paper is all from my scrap box. I used red ribbon with a string of tiny pearls stitched in. The flowers are from Prima, with skittles added for the centers.

The inside of the card says:

Take Each Day As It Comes And Live It In Peace.
The Good Thoughts Of All Who Love You Will Keep You Warm.
Rest Easy, For Everything Will Take Care of Itself...
And Each New Tomorrow Will Find You Feeling Better.

Waiting For You, Baby

Here is my card for the Design Team over at Craft Your Passion this week. The challenge this week is a color combo... Blue and Turquoise. This card follows the sketch at The House That Stamps Built. I used background paper from my paper stash. The image of the woman is called Waiting For You, and is from Lauretta's Digital Stamps. The "inchies" on the card are made with stamps, punches and cuts from Cricut. One inchie is decorated with a die cut from a starburst punch. One Inchie has a cut from a cricut cartridge, and the other is decorated with an image of branches from a swirly tree and then stamped with the word "dream," in white. The inchies are pop dotted and embellished with these new blue gems I just bought, to add dimension and sparkle.

Stop by Craft Your Passion and play along with us, this week, in our Blue & Turquoise color challenge, for your chance to win some digi images of your choice.

It's A Dragon Wedding!

It's time for a new challenge at Stamping With The Dragon. Whoo Hoo! This time, we want you to make an easel card, with the them of Love or Marriage. Here's my card to provide you with some creative inspiration. Stop by the challenge site to check out the other creative goodness from the Stamping Dragon Design Team, then get to work on your own card so you can play along with us. There is a great prize, this time! You could win an image of your choice from Stamping Dragon Designs, and a set of Promarkers! That's right, a set of Promarkers! Whooo Hoo! How's that for a prize! You know you want to play along with us now, so Come On Over!

For this card, I used the sketch at Creatalicious. This is a brand new image Janette created just for us to use for our DT inspiration this week. It's called "Rupert's Wedding," from Stamping Dragon Designs , and is available now, in their store. The background papers are from my stash, as is the ribbon. I bought these cute heart shaped ribbon sliders at Hobby Lobby just for use on this card. (My first time using ribbon sliders and I love them!)I added some skittles dyed with alcohol inks, for extra dimension and bling. The scalloped heart borders was created with a Martha Stewart PATP punch. The sentiment is from Stampin Up and says, "Heart to Heart, Hand to Hand." It is matted on white cardstock embossed with the dots cuttlebug folder. (Sorry I cant remember the offical name of the folder, right now) The faux stitching was added with a purple marker from Creative Memories. I used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add sparkle to the card, to give it that glitter and glitz look, though its very hard to see in the pic, because of the angle of the card.

Purple is my favorite color and I love how this turned out. It looks much better in person!

Thanks So Flippin Much! I'm getting Spotty!

Thanks to all my followers, for frequenting my blog. Thanks, also to Stamping Dragon and Craft Your Passion for having me on your design teams! I am having so much fun!

So, in honor of those things, and in honor of summer, I created this cute card!

I just picked up this new cute freebie image of the flip flops with sentiment at Pamela's Gallery/Firecracker Designs. I love the summer feel to it and flip flops are one of my favorite things! (I cannot stand for my feet to be hot--I even wear shoes with holes in them, in the winter--Gotta love those Crocs!)

For this card, I used the sketch at Crafty Sentiments, and changed it around a bit. I just got this spotty new paper from Michael's. I generally don't like the color orange, but I love love love polka dots--And I'm not sure why. I colored the image using pro markers, and added some glitter to it, for some sparkle. The spotted ribbon is from Stephanie's stash, since I made this card at her house. I added one lonely little button that I got off an old top I threw away. (Yay for recycling and re-using!)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Mmmmmm Berry Sweet!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

A few weeks ago, I landed a guest designer spot for Doodle Palace, and today is the day. Whooo Hooo! I'm so excited! I even got to choose the challenge theme, which is really awesome! For the challenge, I chose red, green & white, because summer reminds me of strawberries, and it is my all time favorite flavor & fruit. One of the restaurants here has the most yummy strawberry pie ever, and its only available in summer! I'm always so excited when the strawberry pie is back! Yummy!

Please stop by Doodle Palace this week, and play along in thier Red, Green & White challenge. They also are having a design team call starting June 28, so check out the current challenge post for details on that, too!

Since I love strawberries so much, I wanted to do a strawberry card. The background paper is a scrap from my stash. I had used it on a recipe layout last year, and threw the scraps in my scrap box. It is perfect for this card! The white lace is from a mixed bag of fibers and things that I received in a swap. I had thrown it in with my fibers and had forgotten about it, till now. I'd have liked to have some frilly lace to use instead, but this is all I had, and it seems to work. The paper flowers are by Prima and I used skittles for the flower centers. I also added a couple sprays of pearls, to add a little more elegance to the card.
One flower in the bottom corner has a cute little ladybug button added to the center.

I'm ashamed to admit that I dont remember where the digi image is from. I got it as a freebie and saved it for later use... That was back before I had enough sense to save images in folders sorted by designer name. So, to whomever this image belongs, I apologize for not giving credit... But I don't know who you are.

If anyone knows where this image is from, please leave a comment and let me know, so that I can give the creator of this wonderful image proper credit.

Here it is! My first card as an offical member of the Craft Your Passion Design Team! Whooo Hooo! I am so excited to have been asked to be a part of this talented group of ladies, and I am looking forward to getting to know all of them.

The Challenge at CYP this week is a sketch. Stop by Craft Your Passion and play along with us in the sketch challenge for your chance to win a great prize!

This is the perfect card for summer, since summer means weddings! Lots and lots of weddings!

I used the sketch at Craft Your Passion this week, for the card layout. The bride image is called Rockette Wedding and is from Coco Dingo. I wanted to keep this card simple to show off the awesome bride image. The background paper is embossed with silver accents. I added some sparkle to the image with a clearstar jelly roll pen (another of my most favorite tools!). I chose a monochrome theme, in attempt to add elegance, and some red for accents. The red accents were colored in using promarkers. The flowers are from Prima, with skittles as the flower centers. (I boughta big bag of these skittles last year and I'm still haven't used even half the bag of these old things!)

Double Double, Puppy Trouble

Look at these two little puppies! Aren't they just the cutest?! We all know how puppies can be a heap of trouble, though! Especially if you have two of them! This image reminds me of that old song, "Puppy Love." Now that I've mentioned it, you have that song in your head now, don't you?!

I created this card as GDT this week at One Stitch At A Time. If you haven't checked out this blog, make sure you do! Fun challenges, and Stitchy Bear Stamps has some awesome images in thier store! Thank you, OSAAT for having me as Guest Design Team Member this week!

The image on this card is from Stitchy Bear Stamps and is colored with Prismacolor markers. The background paper is an old scrap from my scrap box, and is by DCWV. The circle was cut using a 3" circle punch by EK success, and embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. Buttons from my stash, for embellishing.

I think this makes a great masculine card.

It's Time To Say

Another Of my cards for the Stamping Dragon Design Team. I loved the digi images of the clocks when I seen them, and thought they would go perfect with the love image, to make one card. Both images are from Stamping Dragon Designs. I found myself singing the song "Time In A Bottle" while I was putting this card together. I get inspirations from the strangest things sometimes!

This card is perfect for that special guy in your life.

For this card, I decided to go with a white card with red, black and silver. I love this color combo. I used Pro markers to add red highlights to the clock. The Love Image is colored with promarkers as well. (I absolutely love my new promarkers! They're one of my favorite tools! I love them as much as I love punches!) I added some old silver glitter from my stash,to the clocks to add sparkle and added glitter to the Love image as well. The sentiment is computer generated. The letters I and U are from a Martha Stewart Alphabet set. The Love image, the sentiment and the letters are all pop doted for a 3D effect.

What's Cookin, Dad?

Since Father's Day is fast approaching, I am doing another Father's Day/Masculine Card that reminds me of one of my favorite summer activities. It's great time for cooking out on the grill! We're having a cookout this weekend for Father's Day, but dad gets a break and someone else will do the cooking.

The image for this card is from Doodle Dragon Studios. I colored it in using my new Promarkers. (Which I absolutely LOVE and don't know how I ever got along without them!!!) I used the sketch at Passion For Promarkers as the card layout. The background paper is from the ever growing paper stash. The buttons are recycled from old clothes. (Gotta love recycling!)I used punches from Stampin Up! To punch out the scalloped squares, and the squares of Patterned Paper. I am a punch fanatic and my punches are my all time favorite tools!!!

The inside of the card has a Father's Day sentiment, but I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the card, sorry. :(

Surf's Up, Birthday Girl!

Another card that reminds me of summer and that Beach Boys song, "Surfin USA." Oh how I wish we had a beach around here! Makes me want to take off to Florida...Though you wouldn't catch me on a surf board like this little gal. I probably wouldn't be able to stand up on one! I'll leave that for the more adventurous people out there. I just need to get in the water up to my waist and I'm happy.

For this card, I used the sketch from Some Odd Girl. The image is also from Some Odd Girl. I just love their images and the big eyes they have. This one is perfect for a card depicting summer. The white background paper with the spots is from an old summer stack by DCWV. I just bought this new plaid and striped paper from hobby Lobby. The flowers are felt ribbon from Michael's, and I used white skittles for the centers of the flowers. The buttons are from some old clothes I threw away during my cleaning spree earlier today. I added glitter to the hair, shirt, parts of the water and parts of the surfboard, to add some sparkle.

A Fishing We Will Go

It's Summer time, and Father's Day is just around the corner! What a perfect time to celebrate both! This weather is perfect for fishing, and this card reminds me of how my dad used to love to fish when we were younger. He'd take us all to the lake with him. I can still remember the first time I cast my line and it went in the tree. Dad had to climb up there and get it out. I still think of fishing when I think of summer, but I admit that I'd prefer not to bait my own hook! LOL

My dad is one of the strongest and most awesome people I know. He's my hero, like in the song, "Wind Beneath My Wings." I love you, dad! :)

For this card, I have used the Sketch at Critter challenge. The image is from Dustin Pike (Doodle Dragon Studios). The new background paper is from my recent trip to Hobby Lobby. (What can I say, I love paper almost as much as I love punches!) I spent some time cleaning out closets and sorting old clothes today, and found this green shirt with these buttons on it... And I thought they would be The perfect color for this card. (I don't know why I ever bought a green top anyway, since I've never really liked green.) Might as well recycle! The circle with the sentiment is punched using a circle punch from Marvy, and pop dotted for dimension. The green shape behind it is made with photo corners punched with an EK Success photo corner punch.

I almost forgot to add that I colored this image with my new Promarkers! Wow! I am loving these markers soooo soooo sooo much! I'm already ordering more colors!

Creative Writer Blog Award

What a lovely surprise! I woke up today and found that I've received the Creative Writer Blog Award from Audrey and Cute & Some. Thanks so much Audrey!

This Award requires me to pass the award on to 5 other bloggers, so I have chosen:

1. Marlene at Disguised As A Grown Up. Her writing cracks me up.
2. Stephanie at Crafty Teacher for sharing her stash with me every week.
3. Janette at Stamping Dragon Designs for all her cute digi images.
4. Lindyloo because she loves challenges as much as I do!
5. Beth at Inspired By Friends for everything she does!

It Also requires me to list 6 truths or untruths about myself, so here they are: (Do you know which are truths and which are non-truths?)

1. Strawberries are my favorite fruit
2. I had a horse when I was a little girl
3. I love vanilla ice cream
4. The ocean is awesome but I'm not a beach person
5. I used to write to penpals, even as an adult.

Sock Monkey Goes Glitter, Glitz & Girly!

A Co-worker asked me to make her granddaughter, Sativa-Anne, a card for her Kindergarten graduation. (How cute is that?! We never had "graduations" when I went to Kindergarten!) This little lady is very girly, but loves Sock Monkeys and Dinosaurs, so I wanted to find a way to incorporate Mr Sock Monkey with a girly feel.

Who Says Girly Girly can't be done in shades of brown?!

I just bought this new paper on my last trip to Hobby Lobby, and it turned out to be perfect for this card. I like how well the two patterned papers coordinate. All the other papers, flowers, and skittles are from my Stash. The Sock Monkey is one of my favorite stamps from Stampin Up! and the graduation cap on his head is from the Sock Monkey Accessories set by Stampin Up! The sentiment and the graduation cap above it are digi's by Glitterbabe. It is actually supposed to be one piece (The sentiment and hat) but I had to cut it apart to get it to fit on the card. I used a clear star jelly roll pen to add glitter to the layered Prima flowers (the white flower has brown dots on it) and the flowered background paper, to give the card a more girly feel and add some sparkly bling. The circle was punched with a 3" scalloped circle punch by Paper Shapers. I used the sketch from The Pixie Cottage, as the card layout. The faux stitching (I hope that counts as an embellishment?) was done with a white pen from Inksentials. The image, the hat and the sentiment are all pop dotted to add dimension.

In honor of little Sativa-Anne's graduation from Kindergarten, I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Furry Friend

This cute little guy is another image from Lexi's creations! This is my second card I have made with him because he is so darn cute.

I picked up this cool new paper at Hobby Lobby this morning. I love the pattern on it, plus its purple! Gotta love any and all purple! The flower was punched with a punch by Stampin Up! Behind the flower, the white circle is hand cut and embossed with the Cuttlebug swiss dots folder. I used a white skittle in the middle of the punched flower. The ribbon, Buttons and fibers are from my stash. The sentiment is from Aud Sentiments. I used the sketch at Pear Tree Designs.

Ever Just Felt Like Everything Is Going Down Hill?

I think this little guy in on this card feels that way! Poor little fella! This gives new meaning to the words, "Snowball effect!" This cutie is from Lexi's Creations!

More new Patterned Paper from hobby Lobby. I'm loving the background paper on this for some reason. Which is very strange since I've always hated stripes. Maybe its the colors of the paper I like. In any case, I felt like it was perfect for this card. The image is matted on cardstock punched with the Martha Stewart Snowflake PATP set. The white layer behind the blue punched layer is embossed with the Cuttlebugb spots and dots folder. (I think that's what it's called. I used a clear star jelly roll pen to add sparkle and glitter to the snowball and inside the snowflakes. The buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

You Used WHAT for background paper?!

Yay! A New image to play with!

This card is part of the DT inspiration for the newest challenge over at Stamping With The Dragon. Stop by Stamping With The Dragon and play along in our sketch challenge! You could win a great prize (four images of your choice!) from our sponsor, Lexi's Creations! This image is called Bathtime Scruffles.

Okay, so those of you who frequent my blog know that sometimes I like to use unusual things on my cards.... And this one is no exception. I realize some of you may think I'm strange, but thats okay by me. I never claimed to be normal.

Anyway, I happened to be in Target one day, browsing the $1 bins and came across this cute roll of white plastic with black paw prints all over it... And I thought, that would be so cute as a background for the card I am doing for our challenge featuring Lexi's Creations! After looking further at the package... I realized that this little roll of plastic was actually..... A roll of doggie poo poo bags! Of course, that didnt matter to me... It kind of made me want to use them even more.

I have to admit though, the black & white plastic was very hard to cut... I tried 3 paper cutters and neither of them liked this stuff! So I ended up having to hand cut it, which was no easy feat! The plastic keep slipping and sliding around.... Hence why the poo poo baggie background is a little crooked. But,i was determined to use it anyway and now here we are with this card done in a Twilight type color theme of Red, Black and White.

All other papers and the buttons are from my stash. I cut out the oval with the oval template and the Making Memories cutting system. The scalloped oval was cut with Nesties. I added faux stitching with a white pen from Inksentials. The border was punched with the Martha Stewart loop PATP set. I added glitter and sparkle to the bubbles in the image with a clear star jelly roll pen, for some Dazzle.

Just Ducky Birthday

I've been busy crafting, again. This time, for a special little boy's birthday.

I won the challenge this past week at One Stitch At A Time and got to choose 3 digi stamps of my choice from Stitchy Bear Stamps. (Check out all the cute stuff they have! In their store. Too cute!) This is one of images I chose. Since this cute little ducky is new to me, I couldn't wait to make a card with it!

I used a white cardstock base. The background paper (Scrap from my stash) is from the Debbie Mumm Nursery Rhyme stack and it goes perfectly with this cute little scrubbing ducky! The blue paper used for matting the ducky is a scrap from my stash. Metallic brads are from my stash. The sentiment is from the retired Stampin Up! set, "A Little Birdie Told Me." I used a clear star Jelly Roll pen to add sparkles to all the bubbles in his tub, then added some small blue adhesive rain dots to the bubbles in his tub, as well as a few larger ones floating up out of the tub.

I love the way this one turned out. It is on the simple sides but is just so darn cute!

Again, I hope since this new images is from my newest win, it will count for challenges with the theme "New."
