Ahhhhh Summer! Enjoy!

Hey Hey Hey! It's time for a new challenge at Shelly's Images! Today, we want to see you make a project with something you've recycled or reused. It's so important in today's world to recycle as much as we can, and help save the earth. Go green!

For my project, I've made a card that is also a gift card Holder. The flap with the button opens up to reveal a gift card insert. (Sorry, no pic of the inside.. I forgot to take one! LOL)

My project uses Happy Hour Strawberry from Shelly's Images. The image is colored with Promarkers and sparkle added with a clear star gelly roll pen. The flowers are rubber stamps and are stamped using dauber paints. The flowers have been cut out and pop dotted for dimension. The sentiment, Enjoy, is a rubber stamp and has been stamped on canvas. (Something new I tried and I love it!) The button is recycled from an old shirt I threw away. (TIP: Want to use a button on your project, but don't have one to match? Use Adirondack paints or markers to color your button to the color you need!) I painted the button with Adirondack paint dauber, to match my project. The flap with the button is secured with velcro to open and close the card. I used gems from my stash as the flower centers.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Hummingbird Thinking of You

It's MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMarvelous Monday at Shelly's Images!

Today we are featuring this fabulous image, Hummingbird, for your viewing pleasure. I think this is one of my favorite images of Shelly's! I had so much fun creating with it, and so did the rest of the DT! You can see thier beautiful creations, too, at Shelly's Images. Head on over and see what they have to show you, and leave us all some love while you're there. We love to hear your comments.

This gorgeous hummingbird image can be yours for a special price, today only, in Shelly's Store

For my card layout, I've used the sketch at Annabelle Stamps to create this pretty get well card. The hummingbird is cut out and popped out from the card, to add dimension. The papers are both scraps my my stash. I've used pearls from my stash, in two colors on the bottom corners of the center frame. The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You and is punche with oval and scalloped oval punches. The ribbon is tied into a ribbon puff and wrapped around the center frame. The inside of the card says, "And wishing you a speedy recovery."

This turned out perfect for a get well card!

Summer is offically here and everyone is so very very busy enjoying family, BBQ's and the fabulous weather. Our fabulous owner, Cindy-Lynn, wants us all to enjoy it, so she has given the DT the summer off! Whoo hoo!

This means a bit of a change for the challenge starting today, and for the time the DT is on break (July and August). The current challenge is anything goes and will run for the entire 10 weeks that the DT is taking their summer break. This means you have 10 whole weeks to play along! Wow! There will be 10 winners drawn when we return! So be sure you play along for your chance to win!!!

For today's project, I decided to make a tag and go with a red white and black combo. The musical DP is from my stash. I'm using Rockband Tween, by Digi's With Attitude! She's colored with Promarkers. I bought the red and white star paper especially for this tag and then punched out stars with punches by Creative Memories. Birds Of A Feather

Yay! It's Monday, and that means a new challenge at Craft Your Passion! Our theme this week is Paper Piecing. We have a fabulous sponsor for you this week! We're being sponsored by the wonderful folks at AI Factory, who are giving away a digi prize to one lucky winner!

The generous folks over at AI Factory have given the DT a couple of adorable image sets to play with this week, too! Thank you, AI Factory!

We hope you will join us at Craft Your Passion for our Paper Piecing challenge this week! You know you'd love to win the digi prize from AI Factory! And while you're visiting us at Craft Your Passion, check out the other wonderful creations by the DT and leave them some love!

For my project this week, I decided to try and make a corner bookmark. I hadn't ever made one before, so I was a little nervous about it. While it didn't turn out perfect, I'm happy with the results, for my first attempt! I used scraps of papers from my stash. The birdies are paper pieced and are from the Little Birdie Told Me set from AI Factory. I used a tea green Promarker to outline around the white parts of the birds. I wanted those parts to be white, but find that the white often gets lost in everything, if it isnt highlighted. The tea green Promarker is very light and works well to highlight white spaces. I used the branch punch by Martha Stewart to make sprigs of greenery for the birdies to nest in, and to nest the heart in. The heart is punched with a punch by Creative Memories, and is attached with foam mounting tape for dimension. The border is also punched using a Martha Stewart Punch.

I am entering this corner bookmark in the following challenges:

Swimming By To Say Hi

I'm swimming by to say hi, today, because it's time for Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images!

Since we've just celebrated Father's Day, I've been creating a lot of male inspired cards, lately! I have another fun masculine card for you today, using today's featured image, called bad Day Fishing. You can get this fun image today only, for a special price, in Shelly's Store

This image reminds me of going fishing with my dad when I was younger. I remember one time, I went to cast my line into the water and got it hooked in my hair! Poor dad had to sit and untangle it! The things we put our dads (And moms!) through! LOL

My card layout follows the sketch at Ellephantastic. I'm using the Bad Day Fishing and the Hook Line and Sinker images, from Shelly's Images. The images are colored with Promarkers. I cut out the Hook Line and Sinker three times, to use as an embellishment for the bottom left corner in the matted image. I used foam mounting tape to attach them, so they have the 3D effect of fish jumping out of the water. The cute fish ticket says "Swimming By To Say Hi" and is from When The Scrap Hits The Fun. I added hand dyed dew drops above the fishy ticket, to simulate bubbles. The green patterned paper is a digi paper from Bearly Mine Designs. The other patterned papers are scraps from my stash. I used a Clearstar Gelly Roll pen to add some sparkle to the water in the image.

Show Your Independence

Wow! Can you believe how fast time has flown by?! June is almost over, and soon we'll be celebrating Independence Day! So, since Independence Day, July 4, is so close, let's show our love for the Stars and Stripes, the Red, White and Blue!

This is our new challenge for you at Daisy's Doodles! Show us Stars and Stripes to celebrate Independence Day! Come over and play along for your chance to win at Daisy's Doodles! We can't wait to see all of your fabulous creations!

I am having a blast as June guest designer at Daisy's Doodles! Jules has so many fabulous images to choose from! If you haven't checked out the Daisy Doodles store, you really should! You'll love the huge selection of images! Jules has something for everyone! Hurry over and check it out! You'll be glad you did.

My card today uses papers that are all scraps from my stash. I used the eagle image, from the Celebrate America set. I've colored the eagle with Promarkers and matted him in blue. I used two star shaped buttons to the upper left of the image. Below the image, I used a strand of red and white baker's twine and a strand of blue and white baker's twine, then tied them in knots in different increments, to make loops. I've used star shaped metal brads, through each knot, to make a decorative border with the baker's twine. To the right of the image, I've punched a circle and pop dotted a punched star in the center, then added strands of baker's twine hanging from the circle. (Sort of reminds me of a metal of honor!)

Have A Magical Birthday!

We have a new challenge for you, today, at Craft Your Passion. Our theme this week is, "It's Magical." We want to see your magical creations, for a chance to win some prizes! Whoo Hoo! Who doesn't love prizes?!

Our sponsor this week is a fabulous little lady who draws the cutest images! We're sponsored by Didge, of Didge's Doodles. She graciously gave the DT some of her adorable dragon stamps to play with too!

WHurry over to Craft Your Passion?! and show us your magical creation, for your chance to win some goodies!

My card uses no DP, this time! Can you believe it?! The background and text on the card are all created with the Tim Holtz Paint daubers and background rubber stamps. It was so much fun to make my own background. The sentiment, birthday wishes, is stamped onto canvas. (My first time trying that, and its so cool!) The flowers are by Hero Arts and are stamped and cut out, then coated with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint. I used stickles on a couple of the flowers, as well. The image is from Didge's Doodles and is colored with Promarkers. I used gemstones for the flower centers.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Challenge #41 Inspired By A Song (Puff The Magic Dragon) at Lollipop Crafts

Hats Off To You

Hats off to you! It's Marvelous Monday!

Today's featured image at Shelly's Images is this wonderful top hat. I love the elegant look of this image. It's perfect for wedding cards, or even invitations to fancy events.

Don't miss out on your chance to own your own top hat! It's available for a special price, today only, in the Shelly's Images Store.

My card today is done in one of my favorite color combos. Pink, white and black. This card was created strictly from items from my stash. Nothing was bought new, for creating this card. I'm going to be sad when this polka dotted paper is finally gone, since I absolutely love polka dots! (Well, on cards, anyway, but I hate wearing them! LOL!) The pink adhesive pearls in the corners seemed to be a perfect touch. The image is cut out and embossed using nestablities and colored with Promarkers. The pink flowers are by Martha Stewart. I've used a Martha Stewart punch to make leaves for accenting the flowers. This card had to have some sparkle, too, so that is where the glittered ribbon comes in!

Plus, we're being sponsored by the oh so popular Stitchy Bear Stamps store, who's giving one lucky winner at $10 gift certificate to their store!

Don't miss out on these fabulous prizes! Come on over to Digi's With Attitude! and play along! We can't wait to see what you create!

My card layout follows the sketches at Sketch N Stash and at I Love Promarkers. (I admit I LOVE this sketch!!) The image is colored with Promarkers and is available in the Digi's With Attitude! store, here. I went with 3 different patterned papers, in bright summery colors. Doesn't the polka dots and stripes look great together?! The striped paper is new, the rest are from my stash. I love this color combo! One of the sentiments is punched with circle punches. Both sentiments are attached with foam mounting tape, for dimension. The buttons are recycled from an old shirt I threw out when I cleaned the closet. The golden brown gems are from a goodie package I won, in a blog hop.
