It's time for another DT card for Stamping Dragon Designs. This time, another male/Father's Day Card. I seen this cute little image and, though it may seem quirky for a Father's Day card, it seemed perfect for reflecting a nice relaxing day. (Well, as long as the poor kitty doesn't fall off the fence!) My dad has been through so much over the last few months, and then with the loss of my mom at the end of April.... I think he just needs to take some time to just relax.
This cute new sleeping kitty image called Cat On Fence and is from Stamping Dragon Designs. (Reminds me of the song,"Dreaming" from one of the top selling albums of all time-By Fleetwood Mac)
If you haven't checked out, Stamping Dragon, you need to! They have some great images and many are on sale right now in their shop, here. Stop by and check out what they have to offer and pick up some of these cute digis for yourself. While you're there, take a look at some of the cute kits and digi papers they have as well.
This time, I decided to try a couple of new things. It's my first time making a gate fold card, and my first attempt at coloring an image with chalks. I like how it turned out, and feel like the chalks give a nice softness to the image.
I also used a recipe from Cowgirl Up stamps to create the card: 1 image, 2 papers, 3 emellishments (3 buttons). The inside of the card has two coordinating patterned papers, but is left blank so I can add a personal message for dad, once I decide what I want to write inside it.
One piece of cardstock used. The background papers are all scraps from my stash. (Gotta love when you can use those up!) Ribbon is from my stash. Well actually, its from Steph's stash, since we were card making at her house last night, and I made this card there. The Father's Day sentiment is from Studio G, stamped with Stampin Up! Chocolate Chip. The buttons are from my stash.
My dad sometimes will sit and watch me make cards, lately, though he doesn't really seem to be the card type. This will be the first year that I'm giving him a Father's Day card I made myself.
Hopefully since this is a new image to me, this card counts for challenges with the theme "New."
