Christmas Penguin

Here I am, again, with one more card for today. Again, going with the black, silver and bling combination. My card layout uses the Sketch at Fetch A Sketch. The image is by Bugaboo Stamps. I've colored the image with Promarkers. The paper is a scrap from my stash. I also used a small scrap of black embossed paper with splashes of silver, leftover from a card I posted earlier, today. I tied silver metallic twine around the card, and around the small scrap of black and silver paper. I just love all these bows made with the twine! The buttons are recycled from an old shirt I threw away on one of my cleaning sprees. The image has had glitter and sparkle added with a clearstar gelly roll pen. I finished off the card by adding some bling with these silver metal snowflakes. I figured I didn't need to add an additional sentiment, since they're printed all over my DP.

This is a card for my favorite aunt, who loves penguins!

Christmas In Non-Traditional Colors

Good Morning, Bloggers! I'm continuing my Christmas Card making, again, today! Have to get those Christmas Cards done, so I can get them in the mail!

For this card, I'm going with non traditional colors of pink, black and silver. The image is from Bugaboo Stamps, and is colored with Promarkers. I used some fun polka dot and striped papers, from my stash, as well as some embossed paper with splashes of silver, punched with a scalloped circle punch. I used my Crop-O-Dile to add metal eyelets down the sides, then threaded some silver metallic twine through them, lacing the twine up the card. The sentiments are from Sentiments 4 You and are punched with oval and scalloped oval punches. I attached the image, black and silver embossed circle and sentiments with foam mounting tape for added dimension and 3D effect. Shiny silver gem circles of bling were added in the top right and bottom left corners, to bling up the card. I used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add glitter and sparkle to the image.

This card is especially for my cousin because she lives life "outside of the box," so these non-traditional christmas colors are perfect for her.

Bearing Daisies

So, are you all still stuffed from the huge Thanksgiving meal you had?! If you're like me, you're already sick of turkey! Honestly,I was already sick of it after one day of leftovers! So glad it's finally gone! Phew!

I actually have a non Christmas card to show you, today! Can you believe it?! I've been in a huge Christmas card mood lately, so I thought I'd switch it up for you, this time.

My card today is for my free week at Daisy Doodles. The image is a new release, called Bearin' Daisies. I've colored the image with Promarkers. The papers are all scraps from my scrap drawer. I've used this gorgeous crocheted lace trim from American Crafts. The flower is handmade Crochet as well, with a pearl used as the flower center. The leaves are punched with a punch by Martha Stewart.

This would make a great all occasion or thank you card.

Sweet Christmas Fairy

Good Morning, everyone! It's Terrifically Thrilling Thursday at Shelly's Images! Are you ready for a new challenge!

This week's challenge is to use red and green on your project. Now, I know that makes most of you think Christmas, and if you want to make a Christmas project, that's great, but its not a necessity! You can make anything, as long as it has red and green in it. There are prizes to be had, so be sure you play along!

My card is done in reds and greens, using scraps from my stash. I'm using today's featured image, Christmas Fairy, from Shelly's Images. She is colored with Promarkers. I distressed the edges of the plaid paper with my Tonic distressing tool and then inked the edges with green ink. (I'm loving the distressing technique, lately!) I added a couple of sparkly flourishes to bling it up. I love the color of the bling, it goes beautifully with the card and I love the overall effect. This card has somewhat of a vintage feel to it, to me. (But then, maybe I'm crazy. I never have been good at the vintage effect) Either way, I'm happy with how it turned out.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Kenny K Christmas

I was so excited to see that Kenny K's Krafty Girlz is having a DT call! It's always been my dream to be on the Kenny K DT, ever since I discovered his stamps! I applied once before and didn't make it.... But, you know what they say, if at first you don't succeed Try try, again!

And so, I have to try, again!

Here is my DT call submission:

I've been into shaped cards, lately, and the tee pee card is one of my favorites! I love that it is 3 dimensional and sphere shaped so that it stands up independently so all 3 sides can be decorated. These also make great centerpieces for holidays and parties. I'm going to be giving this card to a coworkers granddaughter for Christmas.

This tee pee is 5" tall. The card closes with a very thin velcro oval by Tombow. I'm using Kenny K's Hot Weave image, colored with Promarkers. She's had glitter and sparkle added with a clearstar gelly roll pen. All papers are scraps from my stash.

I made a triangle shaped banner with polka dot paper and pink and white baker's twine, then stretched it around the top of the tee pee on all three sides. The banner has silver metal snowflakes attached to each triangle. The sentiment is by Sentiments 4 You and is punched with oval and scalloped oval punches. I've added some punched branches of greenery behind the sentiment. The image and sentiment are attached with foam mounting tape for Dimension. The red DP has snowflakes on it

I am entering this card for kids in the following DT call:

Christmas Pine

Wow! Time is flying by! Christmas is coming up fast and I still have so many Christmas cards left to do! I better get my booty in gear, I think!

Today's new challenge at Shelly's Images is Show Us What You Got! That means Anything Goes! Whoo Hoo! We know how much you all love this one, and so do I! You can make anything you want, and link up with us for your chance to win a fun prize from Shelly's Images!

I went with a Christmas theme for my project, so I can keep plugging away at getting my Christmas cards done. I found this Pine patterned paper in my stash and knew right away it was perfect for this card! Polka dots seemed like a fun addition, too, to compliment the pine. Of course, then I had to throw in some stripes to complete the effect. (I love spots and stripes together!) Pine is today's featured image at Shelly's Images. (That means it is available, today only, for a special price, in the Shelly's Images Store). I've colored the image with Promarkers, then cut it out and attached it with foam mounting tape for added dimension and 3D effect. The sentiment is hand stamped and is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set by Stampin Up, then punched with the word window and modern label punches, also by Stampin Up.

Is That A Mouse In Your Pocket ?

Is that a mouse in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Here I am, again, with another pocket card! Told you I'm on a roll! LOL

For this pocket Christmas card, I went with this adorable Mouse image from Kenny K. This cutie is colored with Promarkers. My card layout follows the Sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches and the Sketch at The Pixie Cottage. I used white cardstock embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder, as well as some fun Christmas papers. The corners are also embossed, as well. The center panel has an embossed pocket, and I've slid the little mouse down inside the pocket. Glitter and sparkle has been added to the embossed panel with a clear star gelly roll pen and to the mouse's eyes.

I love how this turned out! This mouse is a cute and was so much fun to work with!

Pocket Full Of Snow

Here I am, again, with another pocket card! I'm using another image from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. This time, it's a cute snowman. I went with shades of blue for a monochrome male card. My card layout uses the Sketch at Card Positioning Systems.
I used all papers from my stash. The two strips of paper on the pocket are snowflake paper scraps. The snowman tag sticking out of the pocket uses a scrap of ribbon and I've added faux stitching with my white opaque pen by Inksentials. I've embellished the upper right corner with these sparkly glittered snowflakes. The snowman tag has had glitter and sparkle added with a clearstar gelly roll pen. The sentiment is by Sentiments 4 You and is punched with oval and scalloped oval punches, then mounted with foam mounting tape for dimension. I added Faux pearls around the scallop, with white liquid pearls.

A Stocking in My Pocket

Good morning everyone!

I've been crafting like a fiend, again, and have some new projects to show you today. (Only one for this post, though)

Any of you who frequent my blog know that I go through phases where I make a lot of one kind of thing! Well, this is no exception! My new obsession is pocket cards! I made my first one and now I'm on a roll!

Here is my first pocket card. I made a little shaped tag sticking out of the pocket. The shaped tag is made using this cute little bear in a stocking from Bugaboo Stamps. He's colored with Promarkers, I used a scrap of ribbon through his hat. My card layout uses the Sketch at Skipping Stones Designs. I cut out these cute christmas trees to embellish the upper right corner and then decorated them with my I-Rock tool. (My first time using this tool, and I love love love it!) The pocket in the bottom left is covered with a scrap of crackle look designer paper, and then I attached a sentiment from Sentiments 4 You, punched with oval and scalloped oval punches. The sentiment, pocket and christmas trees are attached with foam mounting tape, for dimension.

I used this teddy bear photo from Just Inspirational Challenges as inspiration to include a teddy bear.

Bloomin' Stitches

Time for a break from the Christmas cards, to show something different. It's Tableau Tuesday at Daisy's Doodles. This means the DT gets to create whatever tickles thier fancy! I went with the pretty floral card this time.

I used an image from a new set, Bloomin' Stitches, by Daisy's Doodles. The image is colored with Promarkers. I've used scraps of paper by Stampin Up, from my stash. ( I LOVE this paper pack! Wish I could get more!) The sheer ribbon is also from my stash, as are the blue pearls in the bottom left and top right corners.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Let's Take A Photo Tour of My New Craft Cave!

Hi everyone!

I'm so so excited, to say that I have finally finished with my new craft cave! Whoo Hoo! Too bad I have to work tonight! I'm so anxious to get in there and start playing and creating!

I decided to post some pics here on my blog and take you all on a photo tour! So, here we go!

Here is the view when you open the door, standing in the doorway:

Here, you can see my paper racks. The papers are sorted by color and shades of color for the solids, and then the patterned is sorted by holidays, occasions, stripes, polka dots, gingham, plaids, stripes and the rest is sorted by color. You can see the one shelf over on the wall that has my bling sorted into boxes, and my flowers sorted by Color. I have another shelf on the other wall (not shown in pics) that shows all my cases of stamps.

Here, you can see my ink pad storage (just for the larger ink pads), my stickles, and some of my punches.

Here are my most used punches, on the wall, my musical entertainment, vagabond, Cricut Imagine and a section with paper stacks.

In this pic, you can see my work table, and the drawers under it where my scraps are sorted by patterned, black and white and solids. The blue tote in the floor is a travel embellishment tote that I take with me for crops and crafting with friends.

On my door, I have ribbon racks and a magnet board where my Spellbinders are. (Sorry, no pic of that. This post is already pic intensive as it is!

Hope you enjoyed the tour of my new craft cave! I'm so excited about it, I just had to share!

It's What's Inside That Counts

I can't beleive how time has flown by and the holidays are nipping at our heels, already! I just finished up my marathon of Halloween cards, and now it's time to start on Christmas cards! A crafter's work is never done! LOL

Today, we have a fun challenge for you at Shelly's Images. It's what's inside that counts! That's right! We want to see you decorate the inside of your card. We also have a new featured image for you today, too. You can see it on my card, and can find it on sale today only, in the Shelly's Images store.

I have to admit, I'm as guilty as the rest of you. I generally never decorate the inside of a card, so this was a rarity for me. I have to admit though, it was fun, and I just may find myself doing more inside decorating in the future.

Okay, now that we have the challenge info out of the way, let me show you my card, both inside and out. We'll start with The front:

I had a blast making this card, though I admit, it was quite labor intensive with all the details and fussy cutting. It was so worth it though. I love how it turned out. There are so many layers to it!

I found this fun holly paper in my stash and knew it was perfect for this card! The white panel of cardstock on the front is embossed with the Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder. and attached with foam mounting tape for dimension. I used the Holly image, from Shelly's Images, printed it out six times and colored them with Promarkers. Then, I did fussy cutting and cut out each one, arranged them in a circle and attached each one with foam mounting tape, to make a 3D wreath. The red white and green cord is from my stash. The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You and is punched with oval and scalloped oval punches.

Time to show you the inside of the card, decorated with matching paper:

I'm thrilled with how this turned out. It is so much prettier in person. The pic really does not do it justice. I wish you could see it in person!
