Be Bad Ass - Growing In Unity - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of my Growing Unity week for Unity Stamp Company.

My inspiration for today's card is someone who is very near and dear to me and is going through very tough times.  Everyday, I am inspired by the courage, the fight and the strength they show.  I've made this card especially for this special someone, to show how much I believe in them and as a reminder to never give up - To keep the strength, to keep fighting and to continue to be brave. I honestly don't know how I could go through what they are going through and keep the positive attitude - This person is truly BADASS - Every day!

I am using the Itty Bitty Stamp, Badass Every Day, from Unity Stamp Company.  I've used papers strictly from my stash. I went with black and white with pops of color, to make the perfect masculine card. I've kept it simple since it's all about the Strength, The Bravery and the Inspiration this special person brings to me.  I hope this card will serve as a reminder, to everyone, every day, to never give up.

Wooo Hoo - My First Day As A Growing In Unity Girl

Hello! My name is Samantha (known as Sammibug in the land of crafty bloggers) and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a Growing In Unity Girl for the very fist time! Woot! So excited! It's only for 5 days, but still, such an awesome opportunity! My dream, one day, is to be on the Unity DT.  We all have to have dreams, right?!

I've been crafting for many years and discovered my first rubber stamp in my teens - Then, I discovered card making - And I was just hooked! I am a self proclaimed paper and punch addict. Card making is my passion and a major stress reliever for me, but I also dabble in painting and other crafts. I am in love with the awesome high quality red rubber stamps from Unity Stamp Company and they are quickly becoming a new crafty addiction for me! I am so excited to be a Unity Girl this week!

For my growing in Unity week, I decided to try new things - Something different, each day. Sometimes a new type of project, sometimes just using a different product.  

Now, let's get on with the details of my first project for Day 1 of my GIU journey:  For my card, today, I used the stamp set, Beginnings & Growth, from Unity Stamp Company. I have been practicing coloring with different techniques lately and this is my first attempt at adding a faint hint of blue around the image and sentimen, to simulate a sky in the background.  It is very faint, so it may be difficult to see in the pic, but it bring a nice effect to it, if you actually see it in person.  (You don't want to know how many pics of this card I took, to try and get the right lighting to show off the faint blue around the image!) All papers used are from my stash.  I intentionally left this card without embellishments, because I wanted to show off the image and have the image and sentiment speak for itself.  This sentiment is so very true, so many big, wonderful things start as small beginnings.  I am thankful for all the small beginnings in my life, just as I am for the chance to be a Growing in Unity girl, even if it's just for a week!

Well, For Fox Sake!

Good Morning, Bloggers and Happy Valentine's Day!  It's new release day at Catch The Bug and we some awesome new release images in the store, today, in the Bugaboo Stamps store! We also have some awesome crafty creations for your viewing pleasure, on the Catch The Bug blog! Come on over and check out the new release creations from the super duper design team!

Can you believe that I farted around (Ooops, yes, I said farted!) and didnt get Valentines mailed out, in time?! Shame on me, I know!  I have a male friend to whom I ALWAYS send cards on holidays and special occasions - Unfortunately, I missed the boat for Valentine's day this year, so I've made my friend this card, as a belated Valentine's card. I've used this cutie new release image, Bugforfoxsake, from Bugaboo Stamps, The outside sentiment says "For Fox Sake." The inside sentiment, which you cant see, because, oops again, I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the card, before I mailed it yesterday) says "I'm late for Valentine's Day." I've used all papers from my stash, for creating this card.  It's a masculine card, so I've used masculine colors and papers, with no embellishments. My card layout uses the sketch at Sketch Saturday

Welcome, Friends! It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday, at Catch The Bug! Today is the day that we, the design team for Bugaboo Stamps, do our part to showcase some of those older, awesome images, from Bugaboo Stamps. Today I have for you, my first attempt at a a gable fold car.  I just LOVE this card fold, and it was so easy! Have you ever tried one? If not, you really should! They're so fun and easy to make! So cute, right?! My gable fold card uses the uses the image, Ava and Deacon Love, by Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I went with a love theme, in black, white, red and purple. I love purple and I know someone who loves red, so this card is the perfect color combo!

I just love this striped paper - it seems perfect for this image.  I went with the clean and simple look for this card.  After all, we all like to keep it simple when we curl up with a good book to relax, don't we?

Have A Star Spangled Fourth Of July

Here I am, again, this time, with a fourth of July project.  My card uses the image, Super Spandex, from Slinky Tart, colored with markers. The image and banner are attached with foam mounting tape.  I love foam mounting tape because it helps add a nice touch of dimension to cards! My card layout uses the Sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I made this card for one of my best friends, for Fourth of July! I know my friend will love it! I used a Gold Glittery Star to embellish the card and set off the striped banner.

Now, on to the details of my card. "Thank You For Being A Friend" is the song that inspired my card. I made this for an amazing friend, who needs some cheering up right now.  I hope she's surprised when she gets this card and some goodies in the mail! Anyway, I went with one of my favorite color combos - Black, White and Pink. My card layout uses the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. All papers are from my stash. I've used a fun mix of papers: Chevron, Polka Dots, Stars and Stripes. I've used the image, Little Monster, by Wonderstrange, hand colored with Promarkers.  I've used pink gemstones and black pearls, to embellish. I added extra sparkle by using a piece of pink glittered ribbon across the center. The image and hearts were mounted with foam tape, for added dimension.This would also make a great card for kids!

My Whimsical Little World

Here are the details of my card.  I've used the image, Penny's Special Day, from Di's Digi Stamps, colored with Promarkers. My card layout uses the Sketch at Digi Sketch Challenge. I went with a mix of black, grey and white patterned papers from my stash. The top panel is wrapped with sparkly black ribbon, tied in a handmade bow, I embellished the top right and bottom left corners of the card with chevron printed gemstones.

And now, here are my card details. My card uses the image Granny's Cookies, from Robyn's Fetish. I went with fall type colors, because, for some reason, they remind me of baking cookies.  I decided to go with a friendship theme, since I have an awesome friend that I always send cookies to, whenever I bake! For my card layout, I used the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've used scraps of matching paper, to make a pennant from out of the sentiment., which is hand stamped. and by Stampin Up! A Sparkly And Shiny Christmas

Wow, can you believe its that time, again?! It's time for Bugaboo Stamps and crew is celebrating Christmas Chaos, again, over at Catch The Bug! Whoo Hoo! We all know how much you love this event and we are thrilled to be doing it, again, this year! Christmas Chaos runs from December 6 - December 12, with a daily challenge every single day! There will be daily prizes, guest designer spots and a special Christmas digi set up for grabs, so be sure to play along! Remember, the more you play, the more chances you have to win. Keep in mind, though, in order to have a chance at the Guest Designer spots, you have to play along in every single challenge during Christmas Chaos week!

Now, let's kick off this Christmas Chaos celebration with our first daily challenge!  Our theme is Sparkle and Shine and there are lots of sparkly shiny creations being showcased for your viewing pleasure!

Now, here is the low down and skinny on my card.  For my card, I've used the image, DeDe Christmas Bells, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with promarkers. I used a mix of glittery, sparkly papers, from my stash. If you look closely, you can see that I used Merry Christmas washi tape striped across the card. Green gemstones and present shaped buttons have been used to embellish. I added ribbon and a handmade bow to the buttons to make them look more like presents. The sentiment is punched with circle and scalloped circle punches.

Wish Upon A Star Little Snowman

Happy Thursday! Thanks for stopping by, today, and celebrating Oldie But Goodie Thursday with us at Catch The Bug! We love bringing back those older images into the spotlight and you're going to love all the creativity we have to show you! Come over to Catch The Bug and feast your eyes on all the other awesome Oldie But Goodie creations!

My card uses the image Lil Snowman Star, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers.  All papers are from my stash. Don;t you just love the glittery papers?! I used Christmas tree buttons, recycled from an old Christmas shirt, and threaded with baker's twine, to embellish. The sentiment is punched with circle and scalloped circle punches. I used liquid pearls to make circle shapes in the corners of the image and beside the sentiment.

Gobble Gobble - It's Thanksgiving

Wow can you believe Turkey Day is just around the corner?! It'll be here before you know it? I can already practically taste that yummy turkey, that homemade stuffing and mashed potatoes..... Mmm making me hungry! Speaking of Thanksgiving and being hungry, have you checked out our new photo inspiration challenge at Catch The Bug?! My card uses the image, AKV Thanksgiving - Turkey, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. All papers are from my stash. I just love how the plaid/stripes fit in with the other papers. This is the perfect male card for Thankgiving. Nice and simple, not girlie.

What?! Santa Has Enough Reindeer?!

Good early morning, everyone! Are you excited? I hope so, because its New Release Tuesday at Bugaboo Stamps! We have some adorable new images for you, today, too, like this one - Puppy - Enough Reindeer. Isn't he just the cutest lilttle puppy you've ever seen?! I just fell in love with him when I seen him! He's just the thing for your Christmas cards,  What?! You haven't started on Christmas cards yet?! Oh, my, then you better get started! Why don't you start with picking up this little guy, and maybe a few others, from the Bugaboo Stamps store?

My card uses one of today's new release image and sentiment set, Puppy - Enough Reindeer, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. All papers used are scraps from my scrap bin. (Gotta use up those scraps so we can buy more paper and make MORE scraps, right?!)  My card layout uses the sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy. I went with a fun mix of patterns this time, with tartan (plaid), santa and snowflakes. I felt they were perfect for this poor little reindeer puppy, so hopeful, as he stands out in the snow. I embellished with two pointsetta flowers, backed with burlap. The flower centers are jazzed up with tiny pearls.  I added glitter to the puppy's hat, the bells on his color and the snow beneath him.

This card was made to send a wonderful male friend of mine, for Christmas.  I'm sure he will love it - He doesnt mind if there are flowers on the card, for Christmas! :D
