Thank You For being A Friend

Got the tunes cranked up and I'm here, read to tell you about our new challenge at Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenges! Why do I have my tunes cranked up, you ask? Well, because this fortnight, our challenge is a Song Inspiration challenge! Whoo Hoo! How fun it that?! I bet you;re already starting to think about your favorite songs and what kind of crafting project it inspires, aren't you?! Hopefully you are, because we'd love for you to create something and play along with us. Remember, you have two weeks to play along for your chance to be one of our DT favorites or even a winner of a fabulous prize from one of these generous sponsors:

Now, on to the details of my card. "Thank You For Being A Friend" is the song that inspired my card. I made this for an amazing friend, who needs some cheering up right now.  I hope she's surprised when she gets this card and some goodies in the mail! Anyway, I went with one of my favorite color combos - Black, White and Pink. My card layout uses the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. All papers are from my stash. I've used a fun mix of papers: Chevron, Polka Dots, Stars and Stripes. I've used the image, Little Monster, by Wonderstrange, hand colored with Promarkers.  I've used pink gemstones and black pearls, to embellish. I added extra sparkle by using a piece of pink glittered ribbon across the center. The image and hearts were mounted with foam tape, for added dimension. This would also make a great card for kids!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Have Ya Ever Just had One Of Those Days?!

Well, well, time sure flies, doesn't it?! I hope you aren't tired of seeing my creative inklings, because I am back, again, with another project to show you and another new challenge for you!  We have a new challenge for you, this fortnight, at Open Minded Crafting, and we'd love for you to play along! Our theme this time, for your creating pleasure, is "Fowls of All Kinds." Oh, c'mon now, don't moan and groan - It's not that hard.  Put on your thinking caps and see what you can create - Remember, Thanksgiving is coming up and who doesn't love turkey - It sure is my favorite bird! LOL!

As always, we have an awesome potpourri of sponsors who are generously donating some great prizes.  This time, our sponsors are:

Wow! How's that for some awesomeness up for grabs! Remember, you have two weeks to play along for your chance at one of those great prizes - You may even be chosen as one our DT Favorites too, and who wouldn't want THAT honor, right?!

Hurry over to Open Minded Crafting and play along with us! This is YOUR chance to give us the bird! LOL!  C'mon do it... I dare ya! :D

Now, that we've went over the meat and potatoes of it all, let's review my card details. I've used the image, That's Tragic, by Dr Digi's House of Stamps, colored with Promarkers, My card layout uses the sketch at Sketch N Stash. I have never won a challenge there but I really love thier sketches so I keep trying! One day it will happen, right?! The funny thing about this card... I had been driving down the road, coming home from the casino of all places, and started thinking about this image and wondering what I would do with it.... Then it came to me - I wanted to do this card in one of my favorite color combos - Black, White and Yellow.  I love this color combo, but for some reason I only use it when I have an image that just strikes me as perfect for it - Well, this was one of them, so I hightailed my booty on over to Hobby Lobby to get just the right paper - And I think I found it! Once I bought my paper, I couldn't wait to come home and create! I am very happy with the finished result and feel like this color combo was definitely the right decision.  I love the mix of the patterns, chevron and polka dots, together, The gears in the two corners of the image were punched with an old punch by EK Success.  (I found that little sucker at a yard sale and snatched it up! Woot! What a bargain!) The top left and bottom right corners of the card are embellished with sparkly gold gemstone pearls. I love them and felt they were perfect for this mix of patterns and colors! I finished off the card by adding wiggly eyes to the image - The perfect finishing touch, don't you think?!

This card is perfect for someone who's had a bad day and could use some cheering up!

My card today features the image, Heels - Polka Dot, from Bugaboo Stamps. I printed the image twice and cut them out with fussy cutting. This gorgeous pair of heels is colored with Promarkers. How cool are these?! Wouldn't you love to have a pair just like them? I used these brand new papers that I got for Christmas, to do the background. I love love love purple and green together! One of my favorite color combinations! The sentiment is computer generated. The PARTY banner was made by punching the leters with a mini circle punch and them arranging them in a fun way. Kid's Stuff

Whoooooo Hooo! It's Friday! We have a very special challenge for you, today, at Digi's With Attitude! This is going to be a fun one! It's kids digi day at Digi's With Attitude! We want to see your projects for or about kids! We'd especially love it if the little ones in your life would play along with us, too! Doesn't that sound like fun?!

You'll definitely want to play along with us, because there are prizes to be won, too! Digi's With Attitude! is giving away a $10 gift certificate to their awesome new store! One winner for every 25 entries, plus a chance at being named Honorable Mention and/or Card of the Month!

Come on over to Digi's With Attitude! and play along!

I'm using this adorable new image, Nosey Abbey, from Digi's With Attitude! Isn't she just hilarious! I cracked up when I seen this image and just had to use her! She is colored with Promarkers. I went with a pink, black and white combo this time, because it is one my favorites! And anyone who knows me, knows that I also love polka dots! My card layout follows the fun sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches. I broke out my old neglected circle punch to use for this card layout. Wow, I haven't used this thing in forever. The circle and scalloped circles are punched using punches by Paper Shapers. All Papers are scraps from my scrap pile. I've used pink pearls to embellish the scalloped circle. I found some scraps of this fun pink and black peace sign ribbon in my stash and the colors were perfect!
