What A Bundle of Joy

Today starts our Sunshine and Smiles Challenge at Catch The Bug! Get out your crafty supplies and create something to link up with us, for your chance to win! it could be anything - As long as its something that brings you, or others, sunshine and smiles!

I love children, so thats one thing that brings me sunshine and smiles, regardless of the weather or the season. So, Im approaching this challenge from this unique angle! My card uses the image, Wee One Fairy - Look Back, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers.  All papers are scraps from my stash. Oh and, Who doesn't love sparkle, right?! Little gemstone footprints and handprints have been used to embellish and add sparkle and shine.  The wings have been given some glittery shine with a Clearstar Gelly Roll Pen. I used pink and white gingham ribbon to add a handmade bow as the finishing touch to this card. The sentiment is punched using circle and scalloped circle punches.

It's Raining Frogs

I'm so in the mood for bright colors today! They just make me so happy and remind me of Spring! Oh, and what better combination than feminine/girlie and bright colors?!

Today is a new challenge at Lacy Sunshine and we're going girlie! All the DT have had a blast showing thier feminine side, this time! As for me, I'm not super girlie, myself, so I went with bright colors with a light feminine touch.  Of course, I'm no tomboy either - I must be somewhere in the middle! LOL!  Anyway, our challenge is open for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to link up with us and show us the girly girl in you - Come play in our feminine challenge, for your chance to win! My card uses the image Emily - Raining Frogs, from Lacy Sunshine, colored with Promarkers. All papers are chevron pattern and are from my stash. For my card layout, I've used the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I used three flower shaped buttons in the upper left corner of the image. Green pearls were added on each side panel, as well as to the flower buttons, to make flower centers. I also added three tiny green pearls in each corner of the image.

Happy Saturday, everyone! Welcome to a new challenge at Catch The Bug! Are you ready to play along with us? How about playing with pastels this week? That's right, our challenge this week is to make a project using pastel colors. Easy, right? Remember, the prizes are prize packs of digi images from Bugaboo Stamps. For my project, today, I made this cutie patootie altered drink cup in monochromatic pastel pink.  I've used the image Pig - Flower, by Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. The polka dot and chevron papers are from my stash. It's difficult to see in the pic, but I used nesting flower punches by Recollections to make little paper flowers to add all around the cup.  I think it came out really cute!

Here we are, with New Release Tuesday, at Bugaboo Stamps.  Today's featured new release is this adorable Baby Cow.  Such a cutie! I absolutely loved working with this image! I used these fun plaid and spotted papers from my stash.  To keep with the theme, I used both lace and diamond like gems on my project.  The gems and swirls are from my stash.  The ruffly, girly pink lace is from Hobby Lobby.  I used a small piece of the lace and formed it to make a flower, and added a gem in the middle for the flower center.  The sentiment is by Sentiments 4 You and is punched with circle punches.  My card layout uses the Sketch at Sketch And Stash. I used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add glitter and sparkle to the ballerina's crown.

Door Knob Hanger With Treat Pouch Tutorial

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting today. As many of you know, I've been lucky enough to be a guest designer for Bugaboo Stamps for January and February. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying my guest designer spot!!! Anyway, one of the requirements as a guest designer for Bugaboo Stamps, is to do one tutorial during your guest designer term. Well, the day has come for me to do my tutorial and its being featured at Catch The Bug, today. I hope you'll stop by and leave a comment if you like the project.

Now, let me tell you what we are going to make, today! For today's tutorial, we're going to make a cute door knob hanger with a treat pouch. It's a fun project and turns out really cute! I hope you'll enjoy it. If you make one, I'd love for you to share it with me so I can see yours!

Okay, now, let's get started:

Supplies You will Need:

Cardstock
Designer Papers
Stamps or Digital Images
Red Liner Tape, Tape Gun or other adhesive
Paper Cutter
Circle Punch
Embellishments for decorating
Scissors


Instructions:

Cut your cardstock as follows:

4 1/2" x 7 1/2" for hanger base, 5 1/2" x 7" for the pocket.

Next, cut your patterned paper as follows:

4 1/4" x 7 1/4" to fit your hanger base, and 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" for the pocket.




Attach your paper to your hanger base.


Now, you will want to score your 5 1/2" 7" cardstock as follows:

Score at 1", 1 1/2", 5 1/2" and 6".

Turn cardstock and score at 4" and 4 1/2".




Now, trim your bottom corners with scissors. Your pocket piece should look like this:




Fold your pocket on score lines and use a glue gun, red liner tape or your favorite adhesive to hold your pocket together. Please be sure to use a good strong adhesive for this part! Once put together, your pocket should look like this:




In the photo above, I've already added some adhesive to the back so that it is ready to place on the door hanger base. Once you have your pocket together, attach your patterned paper.




Now, take your circle punch and punch your hold in the center of your hanger base.

Then, attach your pocket to the hanger base, add your stamped or digital image, and decorate.

Here is my finished door knob hanger with treat pouch:




I used the following images: crown and princess, by Bugaboo Stamps, to decorate the pouch on my doorknob hanger. The images are colored with Promarkers. I used lots of bling, by Recollections, because, after all, princesses needs lots of bling! I used ribbon from my stash, at the top to tie a bow right above where the doorknob is. (Sorry, its hard to see in the pic.)

If The Crown Fits, Wear It Princess

Are you ready for some yummily creative inspiration?! (Yes, Yes, I know Yumily isn't in the dictionary - I just made it up!) Today, we have just that for you, at Daisy's Doodles. The DT has been hard at work to create more fabulous projects for you.

My card today is full of glitter, girlie and sparkle! Perfect for the little princess or your favorite adult princess! I've created this fun card using the Fairytale set from Daisy's Doodles. The images are colored with Promarkers then cut out and mounted with foam mounting tape, for dimension. The edges are trimmed with a fabulous glittered die cut diamond border. I've added gemstone flourishes for more sparkle, and more added bling to the crown and wand. The gemstone flourishes are from my stash. The glittered bored is something new I found at Michael's.

I'm using this adorable new image, Nosey Abbey, from Digi's With Attitude! Isn't she just hilarious! I cracked up when I seen this image and just had to use her! She is colored with Promarkers. I went with a pink, black and white combo this time, because it is one my favorites! And anyone who knows me, knows that I also love polka dots! My card layout follows the fun sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches. I broke out my old neglected circle punch to use for this card layout. Wow, I haven't used this thing in forever. The circle and scalloped circles are punched using punches by Paper Shapers. All Papers are scraps from my scrap pile. I've used pink pearls to embellish the scalloped circle. I found some scraps of this fun pink and black peace sign ribbon in my stash and the colors were perfect!

I'm feeling all girlie this week! My project today uses this adorable mug image from Melissa Jenkins at Whimsy Stamps. I felt like a color combo of pinks and browns would be perfect for this adorable image. And, it gave me a chance to use some fun things from my stash, that I haven't ever used! The image has been punched with the large flower punch, by Stampin Up, and colored with Promarkers. For my card layout, I used the sketch at The Pixie Cottage, as well as incorporating their optional theme of "Sparkle," and the sketches at Sketch and Stash, Stamp With Fun and Heartsong Inspirations. My awesome pink sparkly ribbon is from my stash, as are the flowers. I've used all scrap papers from my scrap box. The flowers are by Prima. The adhesive pearls are from the 99 cent bling booth at the Scrapbook expo I attended over the weekend. I used a Promarker to color in the pearls, to get the color I wanted. How cool is that?! The flowers have had glitter and sparkle added to them with my trusty clearstar gelly roll pen.

It's Spring! Wanna Pet My Lamb?

Happy happy Monday, everyone! And what a Marvelous Monday, it is! I've been enjoying the wonderful weather we have here! (Let's not talk about those occasional bouts of cold we've had sneaking in here and there. Shhhhhh) I'm n the mood for Spring and am already thinking about Easter.

Today, I'm going to show you Spring Lamb, from Shelly's Images. Isn't he just the cutest?! For my layout, I've used the fabulous sketch at Priscilla's Styles. I never ever win there, but I love their sketches, so I do play along from time to time. The sketches this week are particularly fun and interesting, and I couldn't resist using one for my card, today. Ive used a pale yellowish gold card base, and scraps of lovely spring colored papers in shades of pink and green. This is a girly springy eastery card! LOL! The image is colored with Promarkers. The green and pink flowers are from Flor-A Doodle. I removed the original gems from the flowers and replaced them with clear gems (because the colors didn't match originally). The lime green glittered flowers and ribbon are from my stash, as is the little polka dotted bow. I used my clearstar gelly roll pen to add sparkle all over the card, and I think I got a little carried away! LOL! Really, though it doesn't look bad in person, but if you blow up this pic on your screen, it looks like this poor little lamb and his surroundings were attacked by a glitter bug!
(I guess that glitterbug would be me!) =P

Marvelous Monday! Celebrate Fall and Thanksgiving

Good Morning everyone!

It is Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images. The air is becoming crisp and the leaves of the trees are changing colors. Its the perfect time to celebrate fall and start thinking about Thanksgiving. And now for my card. I used the sketch from Creative Inspirations, for my card layout. Of course, I am using Pilgrim Girl, from Shelly's Images, colored with Promarkers. I used sponging around the image to add color and remove any white from the image. I've had this gorgeous fall ribbon for a long time now. I received it in a ribbon swap and had no idea what to do with it, since I don't usually use ribbon this wide. Once I seen this image, I felt like it would be perfect for this ribbon. The image is pop dotted onto the ribbon, for 3D effect and dimension. The background paper is a scrap from my stash.

In The Pink, Baby

I haven't made a baby card in awhile, and I've been in the mood for pink, girlie and gingham, lately. All that resulted in a pink monochromatic card. I will have to edit the post a little later, with the name of the designer of this cute baby digi stamp. I printed this out awhile back and forgot to write the designer's name on the back, so I'll have to go through my files and find the creater's name. The image is colored with Promarkers.

The gingham paper, pink ribbon and cardstock for the card are from my stash. I used the sketch at One Stitch At A Time, for my card layout. Sometimes I just love the clean & simple look. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. I punched it out with the oval and scalloped oval punches, also from Stampin up. The sentiment is pop dotted for a 3D effect.
