Cindy Boo Cupcake Shows Off in Pink and Grey

It's time for a new challenge, again, at Lacy Sunshine! Are you ready?! We have a fun one for you this fortnight - We want to see you create a project using one of your favorite color combos! Sound easy?! Sure it does, so come play along with us in our challenge! You could be one of our winners! Heather is generously giving away prizes and a guest designer spot, so come link up for your chance to win a prize - Or have the honor of being selected as Top 3 or guest designer! What are you waiting for, now? Come play with us at Lacy Sunshine!

My card uses the image Cindy Boo's Cupcake, from Lacy Sunshine Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I went with one of my favorite color combos - Pink and gray. I just love these two colors together, don't you?! I used only scraps of patterned papers from my stash. Alongside each side of the center panel, I used pale pink ribbon with gold thread running through it, as well as a handmade bow in the bottom left corner of the image, using the same pretty ribbon. I used some textured gemstones from Hobby Lobby, in sets of 3, at the top, left and right of the image. The sentiment is by Sentiments 4 You and is punched with circle and scalloped circle punches.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Door Knob Hanger With Treat Pouch Tutorial

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting today. As many of you know, I've been lucky enough to be a guest designer for Bugaboo Stamps for January and February. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying my guest designer spot!!! Anyway, one of the requirements as a guest designer for Bugaboo Stamps, is to do one tutorial during your guest designer term. Well, the day has come for me to do my tutorial and its being featured at Catch The Bug, today. I hope you'll stop by and leave a comment if you like the project.

Now, let me tell you what we are going to make, today! For today's tutorial, we're going to make a cute door knob hanger with a treat pouch. It's a fun project and turns out really cute! I hope you'll enjoy it. If you make one, I'd love for you to share it with me so I can see yours!

Okay, now, let's get started:

Supplies You will Need:

Cardstock
Designer Papers
Stamps or Digital Images
Red Liner Tape, Tape Gun or other adhesive
Paper Cutter
Circle Punch
Embellishments for decorating
Scissors

Instructions:

Cut your cardstock as follows:

4 1/2" x 7 1/2" for hanger base, 5 1/2" x 7" for the pocket.

Next, cut your patterned paper as follows:

4 1/4" x 7 1/4" to fit your hanger base, and 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" for the pocket.

Attach your paper to your hanger base.

Now, you will want to score your 5 1/2" 7" cardstock as follows:

Score at 1", 1 1/2", 5 1/2" and 6".

Turn cardstock and score at 4" and 4 1/2".

Now, trim your bottom corners with scissors. Your pocket piece should look like this:

Fold your pocket on score lines and use a glue gun, red liner tape or your favorite adhesive to hold your pocket together. Please be sure to use a good strong adhesive for this part! Once put together, your pocket should look like this:

In the photo above, I've already added some adhesive to the back so that it is ready to place on the door hanger base. Once you have your pocket together, attach your patterned paper.

Now, take your circle punch and punch your hold in the center of your hanger base.

Then, attach your pocket to the hanger base, add your stamped or digital image, and decorate.

Here is my finished door knob hanger with treat pouch:

I used the following images: crown and princess, by Bugaboo Stamps, to decorate the pouch on my doorknob hanger. The images are colored with Promarkers. I used lots of bling, by Recollections, because, after all, princesses needs lots of bling! I used ribbon from my stash, at the top to tie a bow right above where the doorknob is. (Sorry, its hard to see in the pic.)

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial today! I'd love to hear your comments!

Gotta Love That Mug!

It's Thursday! That means its always a Thrilling Thursday, at Shelly's Images, because it is time for a new challenge!

Our challenge theme this week is Something Sweet. This could be sweets to eat, or just something sweet to look at. Be creative and interpret the theme any way you like, just think sweet!

Have you heard about the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals we give out at Shelly's Images?! These are basically the DT's Top 3, and each winner receives a buy one image get one free coupon for the Shelly's Images Store! We also have our random winner, called our Top Hat winner, who wins an image of their choice from the Shelly's Images Store! Several chances to win!

Come on! You know you want to play along with us!

Hurry over and play along at Shelly's Images!

For my something sweet card, I am using this yummy mug of Hot Chocolate from the Mug Set available in the Shelly's Images Store. I've colored the image with Promarkers. This is breast cancer awareness week, so I just had to use some pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness and Survivors. Of course, the Image Has chocolate and marshmallows, so when we throw those in, we have a Pink, Brown and Cream color combo. For my card layout, I used the sketches at Creative Craft Challenges and at The Pixie Cottage. I've used three different designer papers, all from my stash. I used two decorated inchies in each corner. (If you haven't tried these, they are so much fun to make!) The image and one of the inchies have had glitter and sparkle added with a clearstar gelly roll pen. The sentiment is by Stampin Up and is punched with the word window and modern label punches. The inchies are decorated with a cupcake, flower, sparkly rhinestones and a hand stamped background. I've used foam mounting tape to attach the image, the inchies and the sentiment, to give the card a 3D effect.
