Well, here I am, finally!

Hello everyone! I have been absent from my blog for awhile.  Things have been hectic and chaotic.  My husband was diagnosed with a serious illness and I've been kept busy caring for him.  Things are starting to settle down some and I've found a little time to craft and relieve some stress.

I took inspiration from the Inspiration Challenge at the Altenew blog.  I've used some of the colors from their inspiration photo, but mostly I used the feeling of a "relaxing vacation," that I took from the inspiration photo.  My husband keeps telling me I need a vacation getaway to recoup from all that's been going on.  I agree, but, with me having been out of work to care for him, we cant afford a vacation right now, and I've exhausted all my vacation time and FMLA time, while I was off caring for him.  So, for now, my Spring Like vacation getaway will be in my mind, and depicted in this card. Any place tranquil and quiet would do just fine!

Along with the photo inspiration, I've used the Birch Land stamp set from Altenew, to create this tranquil vacation scene.  I fell in love with this stamp set as soon as I seen it, but I admit, once it arrived, I felt a little intimidated by it and all the elements.  I  am very happy with how it turned out though, for a first attempt.  The tree was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and has been colored with Arteza watercolor brush markers.  (My first time using them - There is a learning curve, which I'm still riding! LOL!) I stamped the lovely array of leaves in various gorgeous colors of Altenew crisp dye inks.  (LOVE thier inks! So awesome!)  I sponged the bottom with green ink to create a hillside.  I drew the birds by hand with a Versafine black marker. The clouds were done with a stencil and Altenew crisp dye ink. .This was my first time using the cloud stencil and I struggled with figuring out the positioning of the stencil.  All in all, I think it turned out decently and is the perfect getaway vacation in my mind.

I'm still deciding if I'm going to turn this into a card, or frame it.  What do you all think would be the best choice?

As you can see from my recipe card, my card uses the image, Saphira Blue Belle, from Lacy Sunshine Stamps, colored with Promarkers. All papers used are from my stash. My card layout uses the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've used hand dyed skittles to embellish the card. The flower is hand made, made with Stampin Up Punches. I hand cut a pennant, to stick up under the flower.  I think it's a great effect, don't you?!

Cindy Boo Cupcake Shows Off in Pink and Grey

My card uses the image Cindy Boo's Cupcake, from Lacy Sunshine Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I went with one of my favorite color combos - Pink and gray. I just love these two colors together, don't you?! I used only scraps of patterned papers from my stash. Alongside each side of the center panel, I used pale pink ribbon with gold thread running through it, as well as a handmade bow in the bottom left corner of the image, using the same pretty ribbon. I used some textured gemstones from Hobby Lobby, in sets of 3, at the top, left and right of the image. The sentiment is by Sentiments 4 You and is punched with circle and scalloped circle punches.

Mother's Day Easel Card

I went with an easel card, today, in honor of Mother's Day. This one is clean, simple, and right to the point! My card uses the image, Ladybug Daisy Vase, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. Pearls have been used to embellish the corners of the image and a pink bow, below. The sentiment is punched with oval and scalloped oval punches.

Color Me A Big Egg For Easter

I have a cute Easter easel card to show you, this time. My card uses the image, EC Big Egg, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. My ribbon has adorable easter eggs printed on it. I used a resin rabbit button in the center of the bottom panel, to hold the card up in its easel format. Two gemstone flowers were added to the left of the image, as well as a resin chickie button to the right of the image.

Gimme A Big Lovable Hug, Girlie!

Good Cold Winter Morning, Everyone!

It's new release day at Bugaboo Stamps - Which means some great new digis in the store and some fabulous creative inspiration from the DT at Catch The Bug. Come over and see the yummy candy, featuring today's new release!

My card features the new release, Girl Teddy Hug, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I've mounted the image with Foam mounting tape to make the image pop and add dimension.  All papers are from my stash. I used this deep purple glittered ribbon across the center panel.  Two corners have been embellished with flowers from The Paper Studio. The greenery around the flowers has been punched with the Martha Stewart branch punch.  I used two rows of three tiny deep purple gemstones that I just bought at Archiver's going out of business sale.  (*Sniff* so sorry to see them closing!)

Spring Chick

My project today uses the image, Flowerpot 3, from Bugaboo Stamps, and colored with Promarkers. I went with bright springy colors. I used the sketch at Paper Make Up Stamps, for my card layout. I used this fun polka dotted ribbon from my stash, to spruce up the sides, and add some buttons, recycled from old clothing.  I love the way this came out.  Reminds me of a pair of bib overalls and how my mom used to love them when she was younger!  This is perfect for a Mother's Day card!

My project uses the Sketch at Creative Craft Challenges and this week's Freebie Friday image - Butterfly, by Bugaboo Stamps. I've colored the image with Promarkers. All papers are scraps from my stash. I used a chipboard Spring Die cut and some other chipboard pieces, for embellishments. I admit, I don't use chipboard very often and I have to say - I'm not sure I like it nor am I overly impressed with it. LOL Oh well, live and learn, right?

My card features the image, POLKAB side sit, from Bugaboo Stamps. I went with three papers, which are scraps from my stash. The lavender and purple have such fun swirls. I thought it would be perfect. Flowers are by Prima and Recollections. A folded lace doily makes a nice background for the bunny to rest against. I used pearls for the flower centers and purple gems to highligh the doily. The white ribbon is a scrap from my scrap drawer. Greenery punches with the Martha Stewart branch punch.

Let's Take A Stroll Down Bunny Trail Lane

Wow, how are you all enjoying this lovely Spring weather we've been having?! Isn't it awesome! It sure gives me Spring fever - Which is perfect for today's featured image!

My project today uses today's featured Image, 1 Bunny Trail Lane, from Shelly's Images! I've colored it with Promarkers, in shades of pink and orange, with some touches of green. The center kraft panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I used scraps of orange paper from my stash, to add some layers. The round discs were made with my new Epoxy disc maker by Ephiphany Arts, using pink and white plaid paper.

This card is perfect for Easter and Spring.
