Blue, Green & Coral

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

It's time for another card. This time, a Tilda image done in the colors of green, blue and coral. Don't you just love the cute little chipboard dragonflies? I've never really been a fan of chipboard, but I do like Dragonflies. These chipboard pieces came in a new RAK I received, so I thought I would put them to use.

Simple Little Birthday Girl

It's time for another clean & simple birthday card. This time for a girl. I can't remember where I got this sweet little image. It was a freebie and I got it back before I had enough sense to start filing them by Deisgner/Company. So, I apologize to the creator, for not making a note of it. If anyone knows who the designer of the image is, please let me know so that I can give them proper credit for this wonderful image!

I decided to do this card in pink and green, since it is one of my favorite color combos. Since I am such a punch fanatic, I had to drag out a cute border punch, as well. All items from the stash. The sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up!

"Don't Stop" Hang In There! & Card Request

This cute monkey image is from Dustin Pike (Doodle Dragon Studios). He looks like he is determined to climb those trees, doesn't he? Doesn't that make him "Up In The Air?" Dustin Pike has a post on his blog, here, about someone he knows who has Multiple Sclerosis, and he is asking everyone to send in cards. (You can find the address on his blog). The card reminds me of that popular song by Fleetwood Mac... "Don't Stop" (Thinking About Tomorrow). A perfect card, then, to send in, at Dustin Pike's Request.

I created the card in manly colors so that I could add more male or unisex oriented cards to my stash. The colors blue green & Brown seem perfect for this card type.

I will be doing my part to send a card, at Dustin Pike's request, by sending in this card.

I also am entering the card in the following challenges:

I've Wandered Completely Outside Of My Box!

Well, I've went and done it, now! I've been doing so much experimenting with new techniques, card styles and layouts, that I've completely wandered outside of my box. (Now, I just hope I find my way back to my box, so I can go in and out as I please! LOL)

This digi stamp sentiment is from Deedee's Designs. I'm not the type to make a card using a scripture, so this is new for me... And quite honestly... I'm not sure what I will even do with this card. But Deedee's Designs offered this image for free as part of their challenge this week... And since using a scripture is definitely a challenge for me, I figured I might as well fall the rest of the box and see what I could create! I have to admit, I'm very surprised how well this turned out, and I'm very pleased with it. I hope the rest of you will like it, too.

All items used to create this card are from my stash. I've had these charms forever and never had a clue what to do with them. The butterfly is made with a Martha Stewart Punch. Everything seemed to come together really well, for me, for this card.

Thank you, Deedee's Designs for bringing me all the way out of my box!

Please take the time to check out Deedee's Designs-She has some wonderful images!

Awwww Poor Little Rupert!

Another card for Stampin Dragon Designs DT. Poor Little Rupert Is Feeling Poorly. I'm betting he'd feel better if you'd stop by Stampin Dragon's store, and buy him so he could come and live with you! There is a big sale in the store, but only till the end of the month! Time is running out to pick up all thier cute images at sale prices! Hurry over to the store and do your part to make Rupert feel better! I really hate to see him feeling "green!"

I decided to do this card in colors that were for both male and female. (I tend to lean toward making cards geared for females, and I'm trying to come up with more unisex cards. The background paper is from My Mind's Eye (Yes, I know.. I am stuck on that paper stack right now!) The chipboard embellishment I received in a RAK and never quite knew what to do with it.... till now. The sentiment is punched out using the word window punch from SU, then mounted on the modern label SU punch, and then attached to a circle. The pretty green felt ribbon gives the card the finishing touch.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Happy Hatch Day!

Phew, here I am, again! I I had this card ready, yesterday, but my internet was going in and out and just wouldn't cooperate with me posting a pic. That happens here when it storms really hard--I hate that about our internet, but its the only provider we can get where we live. Anyway, enough rambling... back to the reason for the post...

Don't you just love this little girl?! Sooo adorable! This card is to show you all the newly released image at Stamping Dragon Designs. The image is called Jiggy hatch day. Stop by Stamping Dragon Designs and take Jiggy home with you, today! There are so many cute images you can have for your very own. Thier challenge blog, Stamping With The Dragon, hosts challenges every two weeks. Come over and play with us at Stamping With The Dragon!

I chose the colors pink and yellow because I seen the cutest bag on evil bay the other day. (I wanted it, of course, but hubby says I have way too many purses already! Like one could EVER have too many bags!!!) I cut Jiggy's face (well whatever you call where her nose is... What's that called on a dragon, anyway?!), the paws and tip of the tail, and made them stand out from the rest of the image. I wanted to try and make Jiggy look like she's actually coming out of the egg in 3D. This card is simply done, because It's all about the image and showing it off. The yellow parts of Jiggy are glitter and sparkly and colored with MS glitter pens.

The background paper is from My Mind's Eye. The stars are felt ribbon from Michael's, the happy face button and pink ribbon are from my stash.

The inside of the card says, "Happy Hatch Day! Hope your Birthday is EGG-stra Special!"

Fancy Floral

Time for another card for the Stamping Dragon Designs Design Team. I actually use a challenge sketch to make this card... And then when I went to enter the card in the challenge, I found that they had decided to suspend challenges and pulled the sketch. The Sketch was supposed to be #7 at Stretch N Bubbles. I'm bummed that they decided to suspend challenges, because I just found thier challenge blog and was looking forward to submitting my card. Oh well. Hopefully they will bring them back!

This card uses the image Fancy Floral from Stamping Dragon Designs. This one is new to my collection and I love the elegance and intricate detail of this one. I highlighted the image with red to coordinate with the background and theme, then cut it out and pop dotted it to the front of the card. I love the look of how it blends in, yet stands out (if that makes any sense). I think it's a great effect. The background paper was originally black and white, but I added some red highlights with markers. I bought this paper specifically for this challenge and one other. The rest if the items were from my stash.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:

Happy Sundae!

Happy Sundae everyone! Hope you all are having a great weekend! Hubby and I went out for a full body massage last night and to dinner. Then I stayed up all night crafting.

Don't you just love this new image I picked up?! This cute image from Deedee's Designs inspired me to make a card because it looks so yummy and it reminds me of years ago when the school used to take us to the local ice cream parlor on a field trip! The sundae looks almost good enough to eat. You can pick up this image for your very own, in Deedee's shop, as well as lots of other cute images. She has some great stuff, so stop by and check it out!

I wanted to keep this card clean and simple so that it showcases the image. All the papers and embellshments are from my stash, except the white ribbon I picked up tonight because for some reason I found that I had no white ribbon in the house!

Without You, There's No Color In My Life

This card was inspired by the sketch and challenge at Twisted Sketches.

I was driving down the road one night, on my way to work, thinking about card ideas, when the sentiment came to me...."Without you, there is no color in my life." (It's so strange sometimes, the things we are doing, when a creative idea comes to us!) The next morning, I stopped on my way home from work and bought some black & white paper, and this card came out of my head and onto paper. I love the elegant look of black and white cards, and the sentiment seemed to fit perfectly.

All Items to create the card are from my stash, except the new paper. The rose image is from Birds Cards. The rose in the center is pop dotted to add dimension.

Glitter and Glitz

The Front:

The Inside:

I have been on a roll, lately with card making! It's so fun and relaxing for me. My aunt has been spending some time with us over the last week, and she doesn't sleep well at night... So she likes to sit and watch me make cards at the kitchen table. That means I have to do my part to keep her entertained!

This cute little image is from Dustin Pike. He is so cute! I even decorated the inside of the Card! The purple background was originally white paper, which I embossed with the little hearts cuttlebug folder (The one that comes in the love language set). Then, I sprayed the white cardstock with Glimmer mist for a light sparkly effect. The purple glitter paper is specialty paper from Hobby Lobby. I bought this on impulse, because purple is my favorite color, and had this in my stash, saving it until an idea struck me. The heart's are punched with a punch by Martha Stewart. Pink ribbon is from my stash. The heart on the Dragon's Box, and the sentiment are both pop dotted to stand out. Pink & Purple is one of my favorite color combos.

Its A Mermaid!

This card was my first attempt at coloring the entire image with my new Prismacolor Art Markers. I really like how the coloring came out. For this card, I used the sketch from Creative Card Crew. The image is from Epiphany. I wanted to go with a simple card for this image, because I wanted the relaxing image and colors to be the focal point of the card. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. I used skittles, from my stash, dyed with Tim Holtz gold alcohol ink mixative, as the embellishemnts.

Everything Is Better With Chocolate

Here I go, again, trying something new! This was my first attempt at a Tent Card, and I have to admit that I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Beleive me, it looks even better in person. The picture really doesn't do it justice. It is hard to tell in the pic, but the chocolate bar is dangling in the circular window. I love how this card stands up by itself for display.

I made this card for the Stamping Dragon Design Team. The image is from Stamping Dragon Designs and is called,"chocolate." You can find the image in Janette's store, here. All of her papers and images are 50% off through the month of May, so stop by and pick up this chocolate image, as well as some of the other goodies. She has so many cute images and background papers, as well as digi stamp packs.

The background paper is by My Mind's Eye. I used designer paper clips by The Paper Studio, as charms. The brad is from K & C company. The scalloped border is made with the Martha Stewart Daisy Punch around the page set. The fibers and ribbon are from my stash. I used the MS punch also, with a brad, to make my own embellishment, which I pop dotted to the card.

When You're Feeling Froggy

This cute little image cracks me up. It is from MelJen's Designs! I love her images and sentiments. Frogs are one of my favorites for some reason, and this reminds me of how my dad and brother used to go fishing a lot, when my brother and I were growing up. This card was made with a few challenges in mind. I figure it could also be used as a male card, since I didn't use girly colors. (That is so outside of the box for me). I'm trying to push myself to do more cards that would be suitable to send to males. I used skittles on the card, as an embellishment. Sketch is from The Town Scrapper/Humble Pie Stamps. The photo corners are made with a punch by EK Success.

Fishing You A Happy Birthday!

Male cards are always a struggle for me, especially for adult males. This card was inspired by several challenges. I used a sketch to design the card, then realized I didnt have a lot of papers to fit in with the theme and images... But hey, that's why its called a challenge, right? Challenge yourself to use your stash and make it work... So that's what I did, and here is the finished, yet plain, product. But then, most guys don't like fancy anyway, right? The sentiment and the fish image are from Hope Jacare, the background papers are from a paper stack by My Mind's Eye. This fish, as well as the sentiment are cut out and popped up, to add dimension. (Sorry, I know its hard to tell that in the pic, since it blends in so well with the card). I tried a new coloring technique for this card, and used my new markers for the first time. This was colored using Primsmacolor Art Marker. I only bought a few colors so far, but am finding that I really like them and they have become one of my favorite things! I used the sketch from Sketch Friday #14 at Practical Scrappers. The sentiment says, "Fishing You A Happy Birthday."

Sketchy Pink and Green!

I know an Octopus isnt normally cuddly.. But this one is sooo cute! Don't you just want to snuggle him?!

I just love the color combo of Pink and green! For this one, I added in some darker green, for a different effect, and followed the sketch at Delightful Sketches. All of the materials are from my stash. The Flowers are K & C company. The dotted Paper is from Mind's Eye, as is the small square of green patterned paper behind the sentiment. It's hard to see that I used a second patterned paper, but its there if you look closely. This cute image is called Octo Love and is from Dustin Pike. The inside of the card says, "And Wishing You A Happy Birthday"

Feeling A Little Vintage? Or Not!

I had no set idea in mind when I created this card. It just sort of evolved as it went along. It does remind me, though, of the Nursery Rhyme, "Mary, Mary, quite Contrary, how does your garden grow?" After it was finished, I felt like it had a bit of a vintage look to it. (But then maybe I'm crazy and don't know what I'm talking about!) I'm really not the vintage type and wouldn't have an idea where to start, if I wanted to... So this is outside the comfort zone for me. I do feel like it came out quite nice, though.

The Digi image is from Designed2Delight. The background paper, which has a vintage feel to it, is from Hobby Lobby. Ive had this paper for a long time, and could never figure out what to do with it. Flowers are from Prima. The gold beading is from Michael's.

Pink & Green, Oh My!

It's time for another challenge card! I think I am starting to get my mojo back a little. This little cutie is a Dustin Pike image. I wanted to make my mother in law something cute and colorful for Mother's Day, and this is what I came up with. All materials were from my stash. I used the sketch over at Critter Challenge.

Suitcase Teddy

Another new DT card for Stamping Dragon Designs! I admit, my creativity is on vacation right now...Since losing my mom last week, its been hard to be able to create something nice, but I'm trying to find my Mojo again... Just have to keep creating, till the sparkle comes back, I guess. Anyway, this cute little image is called Suitcase Teddy, from Stamping Dragon Designs. They're having a big sale on all thier images, for the month of May, so stop by and pick this little cutie up for yourself, as well as several other cute images from Stamping Dragon!

I used all items from my stash. The background paper I've had forever, and had no idea what I was going to do with it, when I bought it. Of course, I admit I am a self proclaimed paper fiend!
