Artist With The Blues

Well, well, here I am again - This time, to tell you about a new challenge, starting today, at Open Minded Crafting. How about a challenge about work? Your job, hubby's job, a friend's job - Or anyone else.  We want to see your projects featuring someone at work, or using an office related product on your project - Either will work for this fun challenge.

As always, this is a biweekly challenge, so you have an entire two weeks to create and link up with us, for your chance to win. We always have lots of great prizes you can win and this time is no exception! Join us, this time, for your chance to win a prize from one of these amazingly generous sponsors:

Now that the details of the challenge are out of the way, let me tell you about my card.

My project uses the (new to me)  image, Crafty Honey Painter, from Scrapper's Delights. I went with a monochromatic color scheme this time, and used lots of spots and dots.  This was such a fun project to do, but I definitely felt a bit dotty after completing it! LOL! I kept it simple, with no embellishments, for that reason. All papers used are from my stash.

This card reminds me so much of my school days, because I always looked forward to going back to school, for the art classes! I guess I always loved to be creative and play with paper! LOL

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Jump on over to Catch The Bug to check out the creative genius of the design team!

For my card, today, I used this week's new release, MarchWord, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I went with a monochromatic theme and used several shades of purple.  The only splash of color is the green for the leaves and lines in the image.  I love this mix of papers together! Violet Flower Pot Pretty

Are you a Lacy Sunshine fan and have a Facebook account? Well, if you are, Lacy Sunshine is having a contest in thier Facebook group right now! You have until Feb 13th to enter a project on their Facebook page, using any of the Lacy Sunshine Flower Pot Pretties images. Heather will choose the winners and post them in the Facebook page on Valentine's Day. Feb 14th! There will be prizes for several categories, so don't miss out on this chance to win! Come play along with us in the Lacy Sunshine Facebook group!

This is my entry for the contest.  Even though I am part of the Lacy Sunshine Design Team, Heather is allowing he DT to play along, too and there are separate prizes for DT Members. This way, we all have a chance to win, if we play along! Yay!

My card uses the image - Violet Flower Pot Pretty, by Lacy Sunshine, colored with Promarkers. I went with shades of purple, being that the image is named for Lilacs. All papers are from my stash. I just love the fun mix of patterns on this card - I think they are perfect with the layout I chose. I used a border punch by Martha Stewart to punch the border across the bottom of the card. The violet flower is by Recollections. I used the Martha Stewart branch punch, to punch the greenery around the flower and used a purple gemstone as the flower center. The same purple gemstones were used in a cluster of three, near the top right corner of the image. My sentiment is by Sentiments 4 You and is punched with a scalloped circle punch by The Paper Studio.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

I have a cute new baby card to show you, using this new release Monkey image, from Bugaboo Stamps. Isn't this just the cutest little monkey girl, sitting on that big banana?! The image is colored with Promarkers. I used a fun sketch that just seemed to fall out of my head onto the paper. I went with a monochromatic theme, but, of course, had to make the banana yellow.  After all, who's ever heard of a pink banana?! For my project, today, I made this cutie patootie altered drink cup in monochromatic pastel pink.  I've used the image Pig - Flower, by Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. The Luck of The Irish

Good Morning, bloggers! Hope you are all having a wonderful morning! Can you believe its almost March, already?! Whoo Hoo Spring is just around the corner, now! I can't wait! Do You Feel Lucky?! (Remember that song - I feel Lucky? Definitely the inspiration for this card!)

Speaking of excitement, we have a new Stella Says Sketch challenge for you, starting today, at Catch The Bug! Remember, you have two weeks to play along with us,so be sure you come over and check out our sketch so you can get your crafting mojo on and join us!  As always, there are fabulous digi prize packs up for grabs, from Bugaboo Stamps.

I have this fun St. Patrick's Day card for you, to ignite that create spark! Want more creative inspiration?! Check out Catch The Bug to see creative genius from the rest of the team! It's well worth checking out!

For my St Patty's day card, today, I have used the current sketch for our latest Stella Says Sketch challenge.  I used two brand new images for this card.  My card features the images, Ava St Patrick's Day Sitter, and clover, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. The green and white shamrock paper is from my stash.  I bought this new green and while polka dot paper because it just seemed to match so perfectly and added a touch of fun! I printed and colored Ava, and all the shamrocks, then fussy cut them.  The shamrocks and Ava are all attached using foam mounting tape, to allow them to pop for added dimension and 3D effect.  Ava is sittin on the larger shamrock, like a good little girl.  The sentiment is computer generated and punched with oval and scalloped oval punches.

I'm definitely out of my comfort zone this one, because I always make the standard sized card, unless it would be a fancy fold card.  For this one, I went with the tall, thinner oblong card.  A definite first for me! I'm pleasantly surprised, though, with how it turned out!

This card is designed to be masculine and is for a very good friend, who truly appreciates a handmade card. I think he's going to love it! Of course, just because its masculine, doesn't men we don't need some bling, right? I added three shiny green pearls, to add that extra touch.  The large shamrocks, as well as the shamrocks on Ava's clothing have had sparkle and glitter added, with a clearstar gelly roll pen.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My humorous birthday card uses the image Hoppy Occasions - Birthday, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers, I went with a monochrome color scheme in greens for the card, with just a little color in the image, since it IS all about partying! My card layout uses the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've used this awesome new image, Skye Pencil Pics Bella And Jacob from Bugaboo Stamps. (The perfect image for all of you Twilight fans, like me!) I went with a monochromatic card because I thought it would show off the image beautifully. All papers used are from my stash, as are the lace, pearls, bow and buttons. I used a Heart punch by Marvy to punch the heart out of the matching star paper. The image is colored with Promarkers.

I took the lace and pearls inspiration from this photo at Just Inspirational Challenges:

Okay, back to the business at hand, now.

For my card today, I'm still in Halloween mode! LOL (Can you tell it's my all time favorite holiday?!) I went the monochromatic route and played with these spiders from Daisy's Doodles. The fabulous paper is from the Apothecary line by Echo park. I punched the webs out of black cardstock with a spiderweb punch by Martha Stewart, then added black and white baker's twine to the card to make it look like each spider is hanging from a string of web. The spiders are colored with Promarkers and then cut out and attached with foam mounting tape.

Stitchy gave the DT some fabulous digi images to work with, from three designers from her store! (Stitchy Stamps, Floppy Latte Designs, and Reece's Scrap Pieces). She also gave us a paper pack that some of the DT used, by Floppy Latte Designs. The prize will be a paper pack and digi images from the Stitchy Bear Stamp Store!

When you go over to link up your challenge entry, Be sure You check out all the DT samples at Craft Your Passion. Show our DT some love by leaving comments!

My card, today, uses the sketch at Repeat Impressions I wanted to do a make card and decided to go with a monochromatic theme. And what perfect color for a male card, than blue? The gingham paper, paper with silver stars and polka dot paper are both from my stash. I used hand dyed skittles for the embellishing in the left upper corner. The hexagons were punched with a punch by Creative Memories, and mounted with Foam mounting tape, for Dimension. I did the sentiment by hand, this time. The image is called Sudz and is by Stitchy Stamps. He is colored with Promarkers.

In The Pink, Baby

I haven't made a baby card in awhile, and I've been in the mood for pink, girlie and gingham, lately. All that resulted in a pink monochromatic card. I will have to edit the post a little later, with the name of the designer of this cute baby digi stamp. I printed this out awhile back and forgot to write the designer's name on the back, so I'll have to go through my files and find the creater's name. The image is colored with Promarkers.

The gingham paper, pink ribbon and cardstock for the card are from my stash. I used the sketch at One Stitch At A Time, for my card layout. Sometimes I just love the clean & simple look. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. I punched it out with the oval and scalloped oval punches, also from Stampin up. The sentiment is pop dotted for a 3D effect.

Little Angel Bear

It's time for another challenge at Stamping With the Dragon. We are sponsored by the wonderful Beary Dust stamps! If you haven't checked out Beary Dust, you really need to! She has soo many cute images!

This time, the challenge is to use a recipe: Use a transparency on your card, and three buttons. (As you can see from my card above, I went a little wild with the buttons and used too many! LOL) These buttons are recycled from an old shirt, when I did my cleaning spree on the closets and throwing out old clothes. I apologize for the quality of the photo. I tried several times to take a better one but they all came out with that shiny glare from the transparency on the front of the card. I hope you'll be able to see the card well enough.

This cute image is Angel Bear, from Beary Dust Stamps. I used the sketch at Crafty Sentiments for the layout of the card. The image was colored with my Promarkers. The bear's wings and halo were glittered to add sparkle. I decided to go with all shades of green for my color scheme. The background paper is striped (hard to see in the pic--Again, I apologize about that). I used a scalloped border punch by Martha Stewart to punch the border on the cardstock behind the image. The sentiment, "Cherish" is from Stampin Up, punched in white with the oval punch from Stampin Up, then matted on a green scalloped oval from Stampin Up! (Reminding us to celebrate life and cherish each day that we live to enjoy) I used transparency as the overlay for the card. The transparency was embossed with the Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls folder. I finished the card by adding the buttons on top of the overlay, down the left side of the image. My Cuttlebug is one of my favorite things...I love all the cool things you can do with it.

Now, it's your turn to play along with us in this challenge! Let your imagination run wild and let's see your creative ways to use transparency on a project. Then, take a pic of it and upload it to the challenge post, here, at Stamping With The Dragon. You may use stamps from any company on your card, so there are no image restrictions. You have till July 15th to play with us. Make sure you do! You don't want to miss the great prize of Digi images of your choice, from Beary Dust Stamps.
