Share The Birthday Humor
Good Morning Bloggers!
Are you ready for more birthday fun at Catch The Bug?! Remember, all week long, we are celebrating Bugaboo Stamps third birthday, with a challenge and prizes - every day! Plus, don't forget, our blog hop is still going on! You still have time to hop and link up with us for your chance to win!
Today's birthday challenge theme is to make a humorous birthday card. Check out Catch The Bug for more humorous birthday inspiration and link up with us while you're there! Fun and prizes await you!
My humorous birthday card uses the image Hoppy Occasions - Birthday, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers, I went with a monochrome color scheme in greens for the card, with just a little color in the image, since it IS all about partying! The sentiment is punched with oval and scalloped oval punches. I decided not to do a lot of embellishing on this card, in case I want to use it for a guy. It makes a great card for a male!

Your Pad Or Mine?

Time for my first project for Shelly's Images! Whoo Hoo! I am soooooo excited to be part of this talented group of ladies! Thanks so much for having me, ladies!
My card features the awesome image, My Pad, from Shelly's Images. I love this image because of its versatility, and darn it he is just cute! Wouldn't you just love to find him floating in your pond? He is available, right now, and on sale for a limited time, so pop on over and grab him for your very own! you can find him, and lots of other fantastic images at Shelly's Images store. Keep coming back and browsing the store, too, because there are lots more wonderful images being released.
I went with birthday for this card, because my cousin has a special birthday coming up and she absolutely loves frogs! Since its a frog, I went with a mostly monochromatic color theme, with some pink thrown in, and another little splash of colors in the ribbon. The layout is a combination of sketches from Sunda Sketch & Stamp and Sketch #79 from Card Patterns. I got creative with the one from Card Patterns and moved the elements all around to fit on my lattice cut card. For the card base, I used white cardstock with a lattice pattern cut into one side. The patterned paper is from my stash. After adding the paper, I decided to fill in the rest of the white space by sponging it with a green ink pad. (This is a new technique for me.) The image is colored with Promarkers and then cut out and mounted with foam mounting tape, for dimension. The ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is from Stampin UP and is punched using the oval and scalloped oval punches. Lots of fancy cutting on this card! I added pink flowers for dimension and to give the card that little extra something that it seemed to be missing, without them. I love the look of the scrunched pink flowers.

Happy Frog Day

Happy Frog Day! And Happy New Challenge day, at Stamping With The Dragon! Today we have a new challenge for you, and this time it is a color challenge: Use Blue, Green & Yellow on your project. Easy challenge, so get out your inks and get busy so you can play along with us! The prize is 5 digi images of your choice from the oh so cute Whimsy Stamps!
You can check out the challenge and play along with us here.
Ohhhh darn it! I just posted my card pic and looked at the post and realized I forgot to put any yellow in my card and used some pink and purple in the paper LOL. Oooopsie sorry Janette. I think my brain was on vacation when I did my card! I think everyone is just being nice to me by not pointing out my oopsie!
I kept my card clean & simple this time. All papers are from my stash, as is the cute frog ribbon. I've had this ribbon forever and had been waiting to find the right use for it. The image is from Whimsy Stamps, and is colored with Promarkers. The flowers are by Prima. I used crystal stickles to add sparkle, and pearls for the centers.
