Wear Purple For Peace Day

It's been awhile, I think, since you've seen me participating in Humor Me Wednesdays, at Catch The Bug, but my turn is up, again, so here I am to share my take one of those strange funny humorous days that the world celebrates - At least some people in the world celebrate them! you probably haven't even heard of most of them, because, trust me, these are not your standard days of celebration! Today, I am celebrating Wear Purple For Peace Day,, which is actually May 16th - So if you want to celebrate it with me - You still have time to make your project and join me! Of course, I had to wear purple, myself, to, while I created this project - After all, it's only fitting! This day is especially appropriate for this card, since I did a wedding card - In honor of someone I know who is getting married - And actually had thier wedding dress dyed purple, for the big day! So, you guessed it - This card is for her! :)

My card uses the image AKV Our Wedding - Just Married, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I used a mix of colors from her wedding - Blue, cream,brown  and - you guessed it - Purple. (I know, I know - strange color combo, but then her choice  she's the bride! LOL)  All papers are scraps of papers from my stash. I used a cream sheer ribbon from my stash, tied in a handmade bow. The card is embellished with small blue and white heart shaped pearls. The sentiment is hand stamped and punched with oval and scalloped oval punches. I used a handmade felt flower in the center below the image.  What do you think of this odd color combo?!

Come Here Lil Piggie

Happy Saturday, everyone! Welcome to a new challenge at Catch The Bug! Are you ready to play along with us? How about playing with pastels this week? That's right, our challenge this week is to make a project using pastel colors. Easy, right? Remember, the prizes are prize packs of digi images from Bugaboo Stamps. A great prize, for sure, so come over and link up your creation with us for your chance to win!

For my project, today, I made this cutie patootie altered drink cup in monochromatic pastel pink.  I've used the image Pig - Flower, by Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. The polka dot and chevron papers are from my stash. It's difficult to see in the pic, but I used nesting flower punches by Recollections to make little paper flowers to add all around the cup.  I think it came out really cute!

I created my card today for a very dear lady who's going through treatment for a medical condition and can use some cheering up. I went with pink and green pastels for summer and colored the image with Promarkers. All papers are from my stash. The brads are made with matching paper using my Itop bradmaker. Ribbon Weave A Happy Birthday, Twinchie Style!

Remember that ribbon weaved twinchie I made for Technique Tuesday, using ribbon scraps, at Shelly's Images, earlier this week? I promised to show you a card that I made using the twinchie, and today is the day.

I've used the sketches from Happileigh Scrappin' and at Priscilla's Styles. for my card layout. The Happy Birthday and Make A Wish graphic sentiments are from Shelly's Images. Shelly gave these away earlier in the year, as freebie, for her big First Birthday Celebration. I used Promarkers to color in the balloons and cupcake, and add color to the text. The twinchie in the center is made with ribbon weaving using two patterned ribbons from my stash. (See above, for link to the tutorial on how to make your own ribbon weaved twinchie). The flowers are from recollections. Punched greenery made with a punch by Martha Stewart. I've used foam mounting tape to attach the sentiments, for dimension and 3D effect. These pretty pastel papers are also from my stash.
