Winter Wishes and A DT Farewell

The year is coming to an end, and we're all preparing to welcome in 2011. And with a new year, comes change. Time for change and new experiences. With that being said, I'm sad to say that my time with Stamping Dragon Designs has come to an end. I want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to Janette, from Stamping Dragon, for giving me the wonderful experience of working with her, and taking the chance on me, to on my first design team. I appreciate everything you have done. I have enjoyed, so much, working with her, and the rest of the DT members, past and present. I will take away from this experience so many wonderful memories. Don't worry, girls, I will be stopping by your blogs to visit from time to time, and I hope you'll all do the same. Don't be surprised if you see me playing along with your challenges over at Stamping With The
Dragon
!

Today is a new challenge over at Dragon, and also my last card for this awesome Design Team of wonderful ladies. This round, we want to see a project using your favorite Winter Color. We're being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads. She is offering a fab prize-- 5 images of the winner's choice! This is an awesome prize, so be sure you play along for your chance to win!

For my card, I used the sketch at Truly Scrumptious. The image was provided by Di's Digi Downloads and is colored with Promarkers. Obviously, my favorite winter colors right now are red & green, since I'm still feeling a little bit like Christmas. I added glitter and sparkle using a clearstar gelly roll pen. It's winter, and so many of us have lots and lots of snow! And we have to have sparkle, if we have snow! The papers and red ribbon are from my stash, and the sentiment is computer generated.

I made this card for my friend Susie. We met in one of those old RPG games years ago and are still friends.

While I have you here, I want to tell you that the Creative Cowgirls are having a blog hop with Blog candy!

check them out, here!

Rick St Dennis Is In The House!

It's challenge time, again, at Stamping With The Dragon. and we have a special sponsor, with a special prize, this time!

We're being sponsored by none other than Rick St Dennis, and he's giving the winner an awesome prize! There will only be ONE LUCKY WINNER for this week's challenge. That winner will receive a Once in a Lifetime Digital Sheet of the 3 dragons images used by the Design Team, as well as several other images that fit the theme.

For those of you not familiar with Rick St Dennis, here is his bio:

Now a much collected pen and ink artist brings his art to DIGI-Stamps!
Designer of over 100 theatrical productions, Rick St Dennis is also the author of 4 books on decorative painting and contributor to at least a dozen national magazines on crafts and art. He has taught design at the college level as well as seminars and classes across the USA and Canada. He is one of a handful of designers to have designed TWO productions of AIDA, Verdi's massive Egyptian opera spectacle. Currently living in the quiet beach community of Seal Beach, California he writes restaurant reviews and theater reviews between assignments for web designs, logos and creating art for local shows. Rick has appeared on such TV shows as Home Matters with Susan Powell, Aileen's Crafts and others. He was Crafts editor for Country Folk Art Magazine and sells his artwork nationally through galleries and shows. Among numerous awards he has won a presidential commendation in 1976 for his contributions to the bicentennial year including the design of the west coast premier of William Grant Still's opera BAYOU LEGEND. His drawings and paintings are in the collections of Diana Ross, Sandy Duncan, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jacqueline Onnasis amongst others.

Our challenge theme is fantasy. Rick St Dennis gave the DT three awesome dragon images to work with, for our fantasy theme. I was soooo excited, too, because I've always loved fantasy themed things, so this was right up my alley!

For my DT project, I decided to try something new, and alter a clock. This is my first attempt, so I was a little nervous about it, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.

My friend, Dan, loves fantasy themed things as much, if not more, than I do. So I thought this clock would make a perfect Christmas gift for him!

I used this awesome dragon image called, "Late Knight Snack," by Rick St Dennis, and colored him with my Promarkers. Glitter and sparkle were adding to the image with a Clearstar Gelly Roll pen. The blue DP is embossed with silver stars and seems to fit perfect with the image and theme. The silver numbers are cut out and then matted on green cardstock.

This was such a fun project to make, and I love how it turned out!

I am entering this christmas gift in the following challenges:

I can't even begin to tell you all how excited our DT was, about this sponsor. Kenny Khas so many cool images! We couldn't wait to play with them! Kenny K gave us images from his new Christmas collection, to play with, and we all had so much fun! Some of us got so excited, that we forgot to include the sketch in our project, and had to make a second card! Not mentioning any names... Ahem *ME* LOL!

Okay, okay, let me stop babbling and tell you about my card. I used this fabulous new glitter paper that I found on sale at Joanne's on a recent shopping excursion. The image, as you know, is by Kenny K and is colored with Promarkers. I've used the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Christmas Sentiment Pack #1 at Stamping Dragon Designs. My card fits the sketch at Inspirational Sketches, Sweet Stop Sketches, Friday Sketchers , Stamps R Us and the simple sketch at Priscilla's Styles. I used some new silver ribbon that I just bought. Oh, and I found some cool silver christmas tree tree and thought... That might look cool on a card! (How's that for using something on a craft item, that isnt normally used as one?!)

I love the way this turned out.

It is challenge time, again, at Stamping With The Dragon. Our theme is water, and we have Robyn's Fetish as our fabulous sponsor. This challenge is a little different from our usual biweekly challenges. We are going with just one week with this round, so hurry and get your ink and paper out so you can play along. You could win a fantastic prize -- 3 digis images of your choice, from Robyn's Fetish!

I love this image, called bathtime, from Robyn's Fetish. This image depicts one of my favorite leisure activities.. Who doesn't love a nice relaxing bubble bath?! For the card layout, I used the sketch at Fresh Brewed Designs and Inspirational Sketches, but altered them some. I decided to go with a clean and simple look. I've colored the image with Promarkers. Doggie Doggie Where's Your Bone?

Good Morning bloggers!

Before I get into the challenge info, I wanted to say a sad farewell to Karyn, who's chosen to step down from our DT due to time restraints. Karyn, thank you for all your wonderful creations, and for all your hard work. We will miss having you on the team, and wish you the best of luck in everything!

Ok, now, It is challenge time, again, at Stamping With The Dragon. Our challenge is a color challenge this time: Black, White & one other color. We're being sponsored by the wonderful Angela, from Toucan Scraps, who's giving the winner a fantastic prize---some awesome digi papers! Be sure to join us, this week in our color challenge, at Stamping With The Dragon.

The DT are all working with black and white images from Toucan Scraps for providing your DT inspiration.

I chose these cute dogs at play, and went with a masculine theme. These dogs come in a bundle pack with several choices, but I chose to only use two, so as not to overcrowd the card front. After all, doggies need room to frolick and play. Aren't they cute? They look like best friends!

All papers are from my stash, as are the buttons and the cute dog bone ribbon.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
