A Flowery Thanks
Happy Saturday! It's time for a new challenge at Catch The Bug! Whoo Hoo! Our theme, this week, is your favorite and mine - Anything Goes! We want all of you to come over and join us this week - It's a wide open theme, so you have no excuse not to play along! There are lots of prizes up for grabs, so hurry and link up!
Today I made a thank you card, which uses a flower image from the Mini Set - Izzy Flowers, from Bugaboo Stamps, colored with Promarkers. I used all papers from my stash and used some of them to create a fun set of banners, behind the image. Blue sheer ribbon runs across the bottom of the card, topped with a handmade ribbon bow. I layered diffierent colors and shapes of flowers at the top of the card. Blue dew drop pearls have been used as the flower centers and to embellish the card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Challenge #310 Springtime at Cute Card Thursday
R#165 Texture at Crafts4Eternity
CMC #41 Use A Sentiment at Card Mania
Challenge #72 Just For A Girl at Deep Ocean

Oh Fabulous! It's Your Birthday!

Are you ready to show us what you got?! We hope you are, because that's the theme for our new challenge, today, at Shelly's Images! What does that mean exactly, you ask?! That means "Anything Goes!" We want to see anything and everything you create, and there is no limit to how many times you can enter, so you have no reason not to play along with us this week! No Excuses! Join us at Shelly's Images and Show Us What You Got! You could win a prize from the Shelly's Images Store!
Wow, I really stepped out of my comfort zone this time. Not only did I push myself to do a non-traditional birthday card, but I also did double paper piecing on the same image! This was my first time trying it and I love the effect! I think it turned out fabulous! I'm using this week's featured image, Glass Slipper. I paper pieced the pillow of the image in a black and white floral print, and then paper pieced the glass slipper in a red and white polka dot print. All papers are new and were bought specifically for this card. It was so much fun mixing all the patterns, and I love this black white and red combo! The sentiment is punched with a trio label punch by EK Success. The flowers and red dew drops are from my stash. I used some blingy, sparkly flourish stickers to add that extra special touch to the card. Faux stitching has been added with an opaque white pen by Inksentials.
The sentiment inside says, "May Your Birthday Be As Fabulous As You Are!"
This fun card for my cousin's birthday and put it in the mail to her this morning. She's going to love it since she's really into shoes and being girly!

Swimming By To Say Hi

I'm swimming by to say hi, today, because it's time for Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images!
Since we've just celebrated Father's Day, I've been creating a lot of male inspired cards, lately! I have another fun masculine card for you today, using today's featured image, called bad Day Fishing. You can get this fun image today only, for a special price, in Shelly's Store
This image reminds me of going fishing with my dad when I was younger. I remember one time, I went to cast my line into the water and got it hooked in my hair! Poor dad had to sit and untangle it! The things we put our dads (And moms!) through! LOL
My card layout follows the sketch at Ellephantastic. I'm using the Bad Day Fishing and the Hook Line and Sinker images, from Shelly's Images. The images are colored with Promarkers. I cut out the Hook Line and Sinker three times, to use as an embellishment for the bottom left corner in the matted image. I used foam mounting tape to attach them, so they have the 3D effect of fish jumping out of the water. The cute fish ticket says "Swimming By To Say Hi" and is from When The Scrap Hits The Fun. I added hand dyed dew drops above the fishy ticket, to simulate bubbles. The green patterned paper is a digi paper from Bearly Mine Designs. The other patterned papers are scraps from my stash. I used a Clearstar Gelly Roll pen to add some sparkle to the water in the image.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Christmas Noel

I know, I know, you're probably all tired of seeing Christmas cards by now! I promise this is my last one for the year! LOL
We have a new challenge at Craft Your Passion. Christmas is this week, so we just had to ask you to see your Christmas cards, this week! I know many of you are still doing those last minute cards, so this is your chance to show off those last minute Christmas cards before you put them in the mail, or hand deliver them. We hope you'll stop by Craft Your Passion, this week, and play along with us for a chance to win an image of your choice from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and CocoDingo.
My card layout is the sketch at The Pixie Cottage. I just had to use it for my card layout when I seen it. This sketch made a fantastic card and was so much fun to use! My image is from CocoDingo and is colored with Promarkers. Of course, I had to add glitter and sparkle using my clearstar gelly roll pen, since it's a Christmas card! All papers and ribbon are from my stash. The Christmas ticket is by Stitchy Bear Stamps, and is mounted with foam mounting tape, for dimension. I've used the branch punch by Martha Stewart, to make branches of greenery for the upper left corner of the image. I finished the corner of the image with a few skittles (or Dew Drops) dyed with Cranberry color alcohol Ink.
I love the way this card turned out!
I made this card especially for my close friend, Dan, who I met online years ago. We've been friends for about 8 years.
