Picnic Time!

Good morning, everyone!  Welcome to another new challenge this week, at Shelly's Images! Since Fourth Of July is right around the corner, what better theme for this week, than Stars, Stripes and Sparkle! There's lots of ways to use this theme, too - It doesn't have to be for Independence Day! Use the theme anyway you  want - Your imagination can run wild - As long as you include Stars, Stripes and Sparkle on your project! Sound fun?! Now, let's talk about my project.  I've used picnic, by Shelly's Images, colored with Promarkers. Glitter and Sparkle has been added to the lemonade glasses with a clearstar gelly roll pen.  The flowers, by Recollections and Prima, are all from my stash, as is the ribbon. Pearls were added for the flower centers.  I used two buttons that were recycled from old clothing tht has been thrown away. My card layout uses sketch (#18), below, at Sketch And Stash

This card reminds me of a picnic at the beach!

Let's Celebrate And Get Sketchy With Sassy Cheryl

My card, today, uses the image Pretty Polly And Her Star Balloons, from Sassy Cheryl's. I went with an Independence Day card, since she seemed so perfect for a July 4th celebration!  The papers are all new, purchased specifically to use with this little cutie.  The red gemstones are from my stash.  I used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add glitter and sparkle to the image.  I mean, what's a celebration and Independence Day, without sparkle, right?! The card layout is the sketch from this week's challenge at Catch The Bug.

Show Your Independence

Wow! Can you believe how fast time has flown by?! June is almost over, and soon we'll be celebrating Independence Day! So, since Independence Day, July 4, is so close, let's show our love for the Stars and Stripes, the Red, White and Blue!

My card today uses papers that are all scraps from my stash. I used the eagle image, from the Celebrate America set. I've colored the eagle with Promarkers and matted him in blue. I used two star shaped buttons to the upper left of the image. Below the image, I used a strand of red and white baker's twine and a strand of blue and white baker's twine, then tied them in knots in different increments, to make loops. I've used star shaped metal brads, through each knot, to make a decorative border with the baker's twine. To the right of the image, I've punched a circle and pop dotted a punched star in the center, then added strands of baker's twine hanging from the circle. (Sort of reminds me of a metal of honor!)
