Best Friends

Time for another Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images That means a discounted price on the featured image in Shelly's Store! Today's featured images is called Best Friends. Hurry over and pick today's sale image, before it's too late!

I decided to try something new this time, and try out the dryer sheet technique. I really like the look of the image done this way, but I'm thinking, now that maybe I should have went with softer colors for the designer paper. Overall though, I am happy with how it turned out. I've used this adorable dog image, Best Friends, by Shelly's Images. He is colored with Promarkers. All these yummy sparkly papers are from my stash, as well as the ribbon. The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You, and is punched with the oval and scalloped oval punches by Stampin Up.

Blue Blue (and white) Bugaboo

Bugaboo Stamps is celebrating their first birthday this week, with daily mini challenges over at their challenge blog, Catch The Bug.

I created this card for the Monday Mini challenge, "Blue and White." The image, of course, is from Bugaboo Stamps. I colored her with Promarkers. I've used the sketches at Crafty Ho's, Tiffany's Doodles and at Peachy Keen for my layout. Her glasses have the added sparkle, thanks to my clearstar gelly roll pen. The DP is a digi paper from the Kiddiwinks CD, by Ooh La La Creations. I used a MS border punch to punch the flower border in the cardstock. The heart is punched with a punch by Marvy. I've used self adhesive pearls for embellishing the center of the punched border.

Your Ears Look Good Enough To Eat!

It's Technique Tuesday, again, at Shelly's Images. If you stopped by yesterday, then you know we have been celebrating the First Birthday of Shelly's Images.

Yesterday, I featured a cute girly Birthday crown that I made for Shelly's birthday, using her 1st Birthday image.

Today, I have for you these cute earrings, using the same image, to match the crown. The perfect matching accessory and they're made of shrink plastic! Aren't these just too cute?! They are so much fun to make! Making these brings out the kid in me all over again! LOL

Wow! Today is a special day, over at Shelly's Images! Not only is it Marvelous Monday, but this is a very special Marvelous Monday!

Today is the First Birthday of Shelly's Images! It is so hard to beleive that Shelly's Images is one year old, today! I remember months ago, when I first started playing in the challenges at Shelly's Images and won my first image from Shelly's Images! Such fond memories! And now, here I am, a proud member of Shelly's Images' DT!

Anyway, let me stop babbling and get on with the business at hand. I wanted to invite you all to hop on over to Images, today, to celebrate our First Birthday! We have some fun events planned throughout the day, so you you'll want to hop over more than once, today, to check out what is going on. There may be a freebie, involved, so you don't want to miss out! While you are there, check out all the fabulous birthday projects the DT have created using today's featured image, "First Birthday!" Okay, now that I have all the announcements out of the way, let me show you what I created for Shelly's Images' first Birthday! I actually created two projects, but I am going to post them in separate posts. The other comes with a fun tutorial, so you will see that one, tomorrow. (Are you excited, yet?!)

Here is today's First Birthday project:

How's that for a fun and unique project?! LOL! When I first seen this fabulous 1st Birthday image that Shelly created for the birthday celebration, I thought of this idea, instantly! A couple of years ago, my aunt and cousin had taken me out for my birthday, to dinner, and they gave me this crown and made me wear it all through dinner! Anyway, I have kept this crown, ever since! I just knew one day I would find the perfect Birthday girl to pass my crown on to! Oh, and guess what?! I found the perfect lucky girl to pass my crown on it---You guessed it! Shelly! Of course, I had to add something to make the crown special for Shelly, since its Shelly's Images' first birthday!

I used today's Featured Image, 1st Birthday, and colored it with Promarkers, then punched it out using a circle punch by EK Success. We had to have some more pink to make this extra girly, so I matted the image with a pink Scalloped circle, punched with a scalloped circle punch. Then I attached the image to the crown, using heavy duty glue dots! The image has added glitter and sparkle on the icing and candle, using these yummy new crystal Stickles. (Gotta have that extra sparkle). Oh, and you have to love this wonderful pink furry trim!

For tomorrow's project, I made Shelly a fun accessory to go along with her birthday crown! Be sure to check back, tomorrow, so you can see what it is, and see how I made it!

I think I should put this awesome girly birthday crown (and tomorrow's matching accessory), in a box and send it to Shelly?! Shelly is a teacher, so I think she needs to wear this Birthday crown and the matching accessories to school one day, all day, in celebration of Shelly's Images' first Birthday!

What do you all think?! How many of you think I need to send this cute crown to Shelly, and she should have to wear it all day to school? (Oh, and she'd need to take a pic of herself wearing this, and the accessory, so we can all see she has officially worn the crown!)

If I get at least 20 people to post a comment and say they think I should mail it to her and she should wear it, I will box it up and send it off! I know you'll all agree with me and not let me down, by posting your comment! I think Shelly better be prepared to show the world her new crown!

Maybe she will even pass it on to a birthday girl of her choice, and we can keep the tradition of the crown going!

Let's Tie One On at Craft Your Passion

For my project, I decided to go with a Birthday card. I'm using this adorable image, supplied by Shelly's Images. I've colored him with Promarkers and used my clearstar gelly roll pen to add glitter and sparkle. The yummy green metallic ribbon is from the Christmas Clearance at Michael's. The DP is from my stash. Sentiments were punched from the DP using the oval and scalloped oval punches from Stampin Up. Ive used the sketch at Create4Fun for my card layout, but have flipped it a little. My card also fits the sketch at Totally Gorjuss.

Showing Some Swan Love

It's that time, again! Time for another Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images! Today's featured image is Swan Love. Swan Love is on sale, today only, in in the Shelly's Images store While you're there, check out her other fabulous images, too! There are so many wonderful images!

I've used today's Featured image, Swan Love, colored with Promarkers. This image is so beautiful and elegant. I had trouble deciding if I wanted to go with a Wedding card, or an anniversary card, for this image. It is perfect for both! I ended up going with a wedding card, in mind, but you could use this card for anniversary, as well. I used some of my new supplies for this card. These two yummy metallic specialty cardstocks were perfect for this image, and for achieving the elegant look I was going for. I bought these just last week and am so glad I did! The gold ribbon with metallic threads is from Michael's, but its been in my stash since Christmas of 2009 LOL. The sentiment is a digi sentiment, purchased from Sentiments 4 You. I used the oval and scalloped oval punch from Stampin Up. The sentiment is mounted using foam mounting tape, for dimension. I used my trusty clearstar gelly roll pen, to add glitter and sparkle to the image. My card fits the sketches at Paper Pretties, at Card Positioning Systems and at Totally Gorjuss.

Craft Your Passion-Anything Goes-Card #2

I decided to do two cards this week, one for each digi sponsor, so that I could make sure both companies had a project featured for each image they were nice enough to give our DT to work with.

For this post, I am showing you my card using this cute Hot Cocoa image from Digi's By Phooka.

I love this Hot Cocoa image. It is so adorable! Of course, it makes me think Winter, so I had to do a Winter themed card. We still have quite a bit of snow left on the ground, so it is perfect weather for a mug of Hot Cocoa. I colored the image with my Promarkers. The snowflake DP and striped DP are both from my stash. I used 4mm silver flatback pearls from Pizazz Aplenty for embellishing. I finished the card off with a small piece of silver snowflake trim, attached with mini glue dots.

Now that I have rambled on for what seems like forever, and practically written a book, let me tell you about my card.

I have done two cards for this challenge, because I want to make sure all images that the sponsors provided to us, get some exposure. So, I've done one by Digi's By Phooka, and one from Digi's With Attitude, but will put them in separate posts.

This post, I am featuring my card with the Grumpy Gretchen Mechanic image, by Digi's With Attitude. I had so much fun creating with this image, and I couldn't help myself with the sentiment! LOL. I've colored Grumpy Gretchen with Promarkers. (she has some sparkle added, too, with my trusty clearstar gelly roll pen). The background paper reminds me of checkered flags, so I felt it was perfect for this image. I've used red Jezebel lace, and black Gabrielle lace from Pizzazz Aplenty. The 3mm clear rhinestones on her clothes and on the scalloped oval are also from Pizzazz Aplenty. I used black cardstock, and made lines to create a road, using a white primsacolor pencil. Then, I added a red button and a checkered flag button from the Start Your Engine series of Dress It Up Buttons. These are new- I bought them specifically to use on this card, because they are perfect for this image! The sentiment/quote is supposed to say, "If It Has Tires or Testicles, It's Going To Give You Trouble!. Unfortunately, I realized after I took the pic, that I made a typo. I have fixed it, but did not have time to take a new pic before my card went up. (Too much family stuff to day with the family yesterday and last night! Phew!) I punched the sentiment with the oval and scalloped oval punches, by Stampin Up, and attached it with foam mounting tape for dimension.

I made this card for my cousin who just broke up with her boyfriend and is making a "New beginning" by moving into her own place and being newly single again.
