It's Almost Thanksgiving

Wow, I can't believe how fast time is moving! Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving?! I'm ready for that turkey dinner that day, aren't you?!

In honor of Thanksgiving, I have a new card to show you today.  I wet with  fall colors for this cute Thanksgiving/Give Thanks card.  I've used the  freebie newsletter image, Priscilla Pilgrim, from Rick St Dennis.  If you aren't familiar with the work of Rick St Dennis, you really are missing out! He draws awesome digital images! Go check them out in his store! You will be so glad you did!

I've colored the image with Promarkers. All fall colored papers are from my stash. I've used blue card stock for my cad base and matting, to add a touch of color. I've used one of my favorite tools, my crop a dile, to punch four holes in the bottom panel, then inserted a brad in each hole and wrapped orange and white twine around each brad, before securing the brad to the card.  The Twine is threaded through a brown buttons, recycled from old clothing I threw out during a cleaning spree.  Gotta love recycling! The sentiment is by Taylored Expressions and has been hand stamped, then punched with circle punches.

I am entering this card in the following Challenges:

I used Corn Candy Washi Tape, by Doodlebug, (Sold in the Simon Says Stamp Store). A black and white gingham handmade bow was added as the finishing touch.

Pumpkins! Pumpkins! Pumpkins!

It's time to show you another project for the 12 Days Of Christmas project from Simply Betty Stamps. This is my 7 Glowing Pumpkins project.

I did a round scalloped circle card for this one. The black and white glittered DP is from the current Halloween paper stack from Recollections. These funky pumpkins are from MyGrafico and are colored with Promarkers. Before adding the pumpkins, I used a Martha Stewart Branch punch and punched out several branches from black and white newsprint paper. I added a wreath of these branches near the edges of the card, then added a small wreath of them in the center. Then I attached foam mounting tape to the back of each pumpkin and added them around the edges of the card, and one in the middle. The pumpkins are "glowing" with shiny glitter that I added with my clearstar gelly roll pen.

You may need to enlarge the photo to see the branches beneath the pumpkins since they blend in a little with the background DP.

The photo does not really do this card justice. It turned out fabulous! I wish you could see it in person!

Owl Wow! Look At That Creepy Tree!

Hey Hey Hey! Are you folks following the 12 Days of Halloween at Simply Betty Stamps? I am! I love love love Betty's Stamps and would love a chance at a term on her DT! I realize I may not be good enough, but I'm gonna try and see what happens!

This project is for Day 1. We were asked to do a project with an owl and a creepy tree on it. I admit, It was a challenge for me, to find a creepy tree! But then I found this creepy paper in my stash and it seemed perfect! I complimented the creepy scene paper with a scrap of orange and black stripes from my stash, then trimmed it with black faux lace.

My card uses the sketch at Sketches By Carly. The image is by Simply Betty Stamps. I went with the black and white look for my image this time. I seen a challenge for it and it looked like fun! Not to mention, it makes her look really creepy, doesn't it?I think she turned out to look very cool and makes a nice addition to the scene in the paper. The Owl and pumpkin is a dimensional three layered embellishement from K & C Company. My cousin and I searched all over Michael's to find the perfect owl for this! And believe me, it wasn't easy! I fell in love with this owl when I seen him and had to have him specifically for this project! Don't you just love his wiggly eyes?!

Hope you enjoyed my project! I had fun making it!

It's Fall, Y'all!

Happy Monday, everyone! Wow, we had some fabulous weather here, yesterday! Sunny and 75 degrees! Unusual for late September, but I'll take what I can get! I'm looking forward to fall, but unfortunately not to the Winter weather. I absolutely hate snow!

Anywhoo, it's time for another challenge at Daisy's Doodles. This time, we are asking you to use fall colors and/or show us projects about giving thanks, to celebrate Canada's Thanksgiving. Our challenge runs for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to play along with us for your chance to win.

I used colors from the Rajasthani Hues color palette from Design Seeds. You can see the wonderful color palette, below.

My card layout today follows the sketch at Sketches By Carly. I just love Carly's sketches! They're so fun! This one, I admit, was a bit tricky for me, though. I used a piece of cardstock embossed with the Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder, then sponged Chocolate Chip ink over it, to enhance the embossed stripes and make them stand out. My leaves and pumpkins are all images from Daisy's Doodles. They've been colored with Promarkers. I found this fun fall colored paper in my stash and it seemed perfect for a fall creation. The leaf shaped gems came from Michael's in the dollar bin.

Let's Harvest Some Pumpkins at Shelly's Images

It's Marvelous Monday, again, at Images. This week, we are featuring Pumpkins as the featured image. Perfect for fall and harvest time. There are so many possibilities with this image. It would also make a nice Thanksgiving card. This image is available for a special price, today only, in the Shelly's Images store. While you are there getting this one, pick up some of the other wonderful images Shelly has to offer.

Also, check out the Shelly's Images blog for some wonderful eye candy by the DT, using the Pumpkins image. You may want to stop back there, too, on Tuesdays for the wonderful tutorials and on Thursdays for the new challenges!

My card featuring the pumpkins image is simple, but I love the way it turned out. I love this image and thought it would be a fantastic to use as a big focal point for a card. I colored the image with Promarkers and framed it with a chipboard frame. (New purchase I made this week, at Michael's) Once I attached it to the card, I felt it was perfect and didn't want to add anything, for fear of taking away from the image. I rarely make a card that doesnt use patterned paper, and I generally don't like chipboard, but I'm glad I did, with this image. I think it is perfect just the way it is.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
