Spooky Monochrome

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! Are you ready for the weekend?! It's Terrifically Thrilling Thursday at Shelly's Images, and that means it's time for a new challenge!

Or challenge theme is Monochrome with Ribbon. Fun, easy challenge, don't you think?

Want to be our Gold, Silver, Bronze winner? Or our Top Hat winner?! Hurry over and play along, one of them could be YOU!

My card today uses the Spiderweb set, by Shelly's Images. The set includes the large spiderweb, a small spider, sentiment and spiderweb corners.

I used spiderweb print designer paper from Echo Park. The large spiderweb and spiderweb corners have been highlighted with a Tea Green Promarker, to accent the lines in the spiderweb. I attached the spiderweb corners, spider and sentiment with foam mounting tape for 3D effect and added dimension. The inside of my card has ribbon and more of the spiderweb designer paper. (Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of the inside).

Boo! The Ghost Was Framed!

I know! I know! You are probably sick of seeing all of my Halloween projects, already! Sorry, but you will need to sit through this one and three more! LOL

This is project #9 for the 12 Days of Halloween at Simply Betty Stamps. The theme is 9 Ghosts A-Booing.

I found this cute stand up oval frame at Michael's in the $1 bin so I used it to create a cute Halloween decoration. The frame is so cool looking - I decided to keep the framed parts simple so the the frame adds to it, rather than takes away from it. I used this cute cut out ghost as well as this snow sign from Shelly's Images. I sponged the sign center with black ink and colored in the snow with a red Promarker so that it looks like a sign dripping with blood, instead of piled with snow. It turned out really creepy and I love it! I used a #9 on the sign to signify 9 Ghosts A-booing.

I am entering this altered frame decoration in the following challenge:

What A Monstrous Treat!

Another 12 Days of Halloween Project from Simply Betty Stamps

This one is for Day 8 and shows a monster! I went with a little treat box, this time.

Oooo isn't it spooky?! I'd hate to wake up and see this in my room! LOL The monster image is from Wonderstrange. I used scraps from my stash and followed the Repeat Impressions Sketch 01911. I added some bling to the handle of the treatbox with adhesive gems.

I am entering this treat container in the following challenges:

Pumpkins! Pumpkins! Pumpkins!

It's time to show you another project for the 12 Days Of Christmas project from Simply Betty Stamps. This is my 7 Glowing Pumpkins project.

I did a round scalloped circle card for this one. The black and white glittered DP is from the current Halloween paper stack from Recollections. These funky pumpkins are from MyGrafico and are colored with Promarkers. Before adding the pumpkins, I used a Martha Stewart Branch punch and punched out several branches from black and white newsprint paper. I added a wreath of these branches near the edges of the card, then added a small wreath of them in the center. Then I attached foam mounting tape to the back of each pumpkin and added them around the edges of the card, and one in the middle. The pumpkins are "glowing" with shiny glitter that I added with my clearstar gelly roll pen.

You may need to enlarge the photo to see the branches beneath the pumpkins since they blend in a little with the background DP.

The photo does not really do this card justice. It turned out fabulous! I wish you could see it in person!

Five Spooky Spooks

I guess you can all tell that I absolutely love Halloween! LOL! I thought I was done doin Halloween projects this year, till I found out about the 12 Days Of Halloween at Simply Betty Stamps. I just had to play along, to have a chance at the grand prize! I've always wanted to be on thier DT!

Here is my project for Day 5 and the theme of 5 Spooky Spooks.

I decided to go with a tag, this time, to change it up a bit. I used scraps of papers from my stash, and distressed the edges of the tag and paper with a paper distressing tool, then distressed the edges with black ink. My image is by Wonderstrange and is colored with Promarkers. My tag layout uses Sketch #99 at Skipping Stones Designs. The orange polka dot ribbon is from my stash. I used a halloween diecut from the Apothecary line by Echo Park and distressed the edges of that with black, also. A punched spiderweb makes the perfect background for the creepy goblin.

I am entering this tag in the following challenges:

Three Black Cats

Hello, again! I'm back with another project for the 12 Days of Halloween at Simply Betty Stamps. This is my project for Day 3. We were asked to make a project with the theme of 3 Black Cats.

I used a scrap of fun polka dotted paper in halloween colors and a scrap of paper with these spooky spooks. The image is Skellington Betty, by Simply Betty Stamps. She is colored with Promarkers in shades of purple. I used a piece of chipboard in black and orange to frame the image. I used a 3d Black cat embellishment but only had one, so I put a #3 sticker on the cat, to fit the Three Black Cats theme.

My card layout uses Sketch #241 At Card Positioning Systems.

Zombified Farewell

Today, it's a new challenge at Stamp Insanity?! Today, we want to see you Trick Out Some Treats. That's right! Decorate a treat or treat container and play along with us at Stamp Insanity.

I admit, I messed up on my project this round. There had been a change in the schedule when we consolidated into one team, and I got all zigglyboo mixed up and did the wrong project for this round. Luckily for me, Beth was nice enough to let me use it anyway.

Before I show you my project, I wanted to announce, with a heavy heart, that this is my last project for Stamp Insanity. I have really enjoyed my time here and it has been a difficult decision to make. However, I feel in my heart that it is time to move on. I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to work with these fabulous ladies. Thank you so much Beth and Tanya for giving me the chance to be part of the team.

And now, on to my project. As I said before, I got mixed up somehow on what I was supposed to be doing, and I went with the "Zombiefy An Image" theme. I used two different papers from the Apothecary line by Echo Park. I distressed the edges of the checkerboard paper with my distressing tool, then distressed the edged with a distressing ink. After this was finished, I used a red Promarker to add what I hope looks like blood drippings to the white spaces on the checkerboard pattern. This layer is mounted with foam mounting tape to add dimension. I used the image Kassandra, from Stamp Insanity. She is colored with Promarkers and I "Zombiefied" her by adding some blood and stitches. Ive used black sheer ribbon with splatters of metallic silver. I used a black metallic flower where the two pieces of ribbon meet, and added foliage around it, punched with a martha Stewart branch punch. The image and the foliage pieces have had glitter and sparkle added with a clearstar gelly roll pen.

Spooky Trip To The Graveyard

Today is tuesday, and that means Tableau Tuesday at Daisy's Doodles. This is the chance for the DT to create anything their little heart desires, to showcase at the blog! I love Tuesdays because I can go crazy and experiment with lots of fun ideas!

For my project this week, I decided to make a scene! This is something completely new for me! It's certainly not like me at all, to make a scene! (Okay, well, I may have made a scene a few times, when I was angry! LOL)

I've used several images this week from Daisy's Doodles. Cute little Frankenstein is From The Halloween Pack 1. The pumpkin full of candy is from Halloween Pack 2, and the tombstones are from Halloween Pack 3. I colored all images with my Promarkers. The spooky DP is a digi paper from Panda Bear Designs. The bats are punched with a punch from EK Success. I attached the tombstones, bats and Frankie with foam mounting tape to add dimension and 3D effect to the card. This creepy fence is punched with a punch by Martha Stewart and really helps make the creepy scene!

Stamp Insanity has a new challenge for you, today! A fun photo inspiration is waiting for you over at Stamp Insanity! Come on over and play along with us!

My project today uses this fun cluster of bats, from Stamp Insanity's Halloween Henry set. I sponged the background of the image in orange ink. I found this cool purple tye dyed paper in my stash, as well as a small scrap of Halloween paper. The skeleton and sign are stickers from Echo Park's Apothecary collection. The border is punched with a punch by Fiskars. Green checkered ribbon is from my stash.

A Spooky Light In The Night

It's challenge time, again, at Shelly's Images! This time, its a color challenge. We want to see your projects using the colors brown, burnt orange and maroon. Please come over and join us at Shelly's Images to play along!

My card uses today's featured image, Light In The Night, from Shelly's Images. I absolutely fell in love with this image when it was released, and couldn't wait to play with it! It turned out to be perfect for this color scheme, too! The image is colored with Promarkers. I sponged around the image with Cherry Cobbler ink, by Stampin Up. Two corners of the image are adorned with these awesome glittered photo corners. The other two are embellished with a spider and web, and a big eyed bat. These Halloween papers from my stash are by Echo Park. The burnt orange patterned tape is by Martha Stewart's new Halloween collection. I've used this "Haunted" sticker from my stash, as my sentiment.

I used this sketch, below, (Sketch #7 From the Sketch Catalog at Sketch N Stash) for my card layout.

Join The Boo Crew

In case you hadn't heard, tonight is Fright Night at the CDAC group for Shelly's Images. Lots of fun, chat, games and prizes, from 6pm-9pm CST. Come on over and hang out with us! Have some fun! There may even be some freebies involved.

This is my project for the Fright Night event. I used Shelly's cute little ghost set, Boo Crew. As soon as I seen this set, I knew it would be perfect for a side step card. The images are colored with Promarkers. I used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add sparkle to the ghosts. All papers are from my stash. This gave me a chance to use my old old old pad of Halloween paper that has been collecting dust. The witch and fence are punched with Halloween punches by Martha Stewart. I apologize for the glare on the shiny piece in the bottom right corner. It's a glittered acetate sticker from MS. I guess the combination of the acetate and the glitter got the best of the poor kitty and he rebelled against the camera flash.

This card was so much fun to make! Hope you all enjoy my creation!

Tabletop Graveyard

Things are cooling off and we're starting to have some of those cool crisp nights. Time to Think of fall and that means Halloween is fast approaching! Time to start all those creepy projects!

I created this 3D Project for the Challenge over at Stamp It Crazy, for their You're Dead challenge, to create your own tombstone. The challenge is to create your tombstone on a project, so I figured I might was well go for an actual graveyard! The rules are that you must Use Red, Black and Grey, and must included a tombstone and a moon. After looking at my completed project, I realized what an awesome decoration this would be for the table tops at Halloween parties!

I found this gray cage in the dollar Bin at Michael's yesterday and immediately I envisioned it as a graveyard for Halloween. So it was perfect for a project to enter into this challenge. I've been wanting to try a 3D project, so this is the perfect opportunity for me... A new Beginning, so to speak, since its my first try at an altered 3D project.

I did my tombstone on gray cardstock with black ink and then cut it out and attached it to the bottom of my cage. The spooky black tree is digital clipart that I printed onto light gray cardstock and cut out. (Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact source). I added some blood to the tree and the tombstone with a red promarker, then attached the tree and tombstone to the bottom of my cage.

I had some of that white fake spiderweb silk that I saved from an old Halloween decoration I threw out. I knew I'd find something to use it for, eventually, so I added that to the bottom of the cage surrounding my images, and then topped it with Xmas Red stickles for shine and to add color and creepiness. I hand cut a moon from black cardstock and hung it from the top of the cage, then placed a black cat image on the front of the cage.

Presto! An altered cage turned tabletop graveyard! It reminds of the book/story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

This was so much fun to make, and forced me to go "outside my box" by making my first altered 3D project.
