Let's Go Monochrome
Happy Monday, everyone! You know what Monday means, right?! Monday means a new challenge at Craft Your Passion. We have a fun theme for you this week--Monochrome! I love making Monochrome cards, so I was thrilled to see this as our theme for the week.
Come on over and play along with us at Craft Your Passion and link up your project with the wonderful Mr Linky! Just a reminder of the standard rules--No backlinking of projects, please. Your creation must be new, created on or after the challenge date, and before the challenge ends. Any backlinked projects will not be in the prize drawing. You don't want to miss out on your chance to win images of your choice from CocoDingo and Lauretta's Digital Stamps, so please please please don't backlink. We really don't like to have to exclude anyone from winning.
I have to admit, my card for this theme is quite busy, with lots going on. I'm not quite sure what possessed me to add so many embellishments to it! LOL Part of me thinks it's a bit over the top... Then another part of me thinks it looks nice the way it is. But, I'll let you all decide for yourselves.
I went with all pink, again. I'm not much for wearing pink, but I love creating with this color. The image is from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and colored with Promarkers. I punched the circle and scalloped circle with punches by EK Success. I found this yummy scrummy pink velvet ribbon in the sewing section of Walmart and before I know it, it jumped into my cart and followed me home! The pink sparkly trim with the dangling crystals is actually mini Christmas tree trim from Hobby Lobby. I finished the card off with some gemstone flourishes and adhesive gemstones in two corners of the image.
And there you have it -- Monochrome with lots and lots of bling!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Cut It Out at Papertake Weekly

Christmas Eve at Shelly's Images
Whooo Hooo! Time for another Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images. This week, the featured stamp is called, Christmas Eve. And since it is the featured stamp this week, this awesome image is on sale in the Shelly's Images store, for today only! I love this little boy and girl, they are such cuties! It reminds me when I was a little girl, How I'd sneak downstairs in the middle of the night, trying to catch Santa bringing the gifts!
Ohhhh and while I have you here, I wanted to mention a fun event we are having at Shelly's Images! We're having a big 12 Days of Christmas event, and we're inviting all of you to join us! Lots of fun and games, and even a virtual Christmas dinner! I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the big event!
And now, back to today's project:
For my card, I decided to try making a shaped card, for the front panel. I printed the image larger than usual, to show the detail, and colored it with Promarkers. I've used a clearstar gelly roll pen to add glitter and sparkle to the light bulbs on the Christmas garland. I added the spotted DP to the front panel, then covered the inside of the card with a second DP. Next, I attached the image, and cut away part of the front panel around the image, to give that die cut effect to the front panel, allowing you to see part of the Inside of the card. I really liked how this turned out as a shaped card, so I decided not to add a lot of elements to the card, to take away from the look. The final touch is the silver and white ribbon, from my stash. My card fits the sketch at Create 4 Fun.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

OMG!!! Kenny K Is Having A DT Call!!!!
Anyone who knows me knows that Kenny K is one of my most favorite Digi companies! His images are so "me" in style! When I found out Kenny K is having a DT call, my first thought was, "OMG, I have to apply!" But then I got to thinking about how many people would be applying and figured I wouldn't really have a chance. So I thought about it and tossed the idea around in my head...
Around, and around, and around...
I tossed the idea around so much, that I felt like I was tossing a salad!
You know what they say though, we're our own worst critics! And mama always said, "You will never know, if you don't try." And mama was right. I have to try, or I'll always wonder, "What if I had..."
So, here I am Kenny K!
My first example is one of my new favorites. This is my first attempt at doing an altered clock. My friend, Dan, loves Mystical, Magical and Fantasy themed items, so I wanted to give him something different, this year for Christmas. The image is from Rick St Dennis. I apologize that the image in the photo isn't super clear to show off the coloring, but It took me several attempts to get a decent picture of it. All the sparkle on the image, plus the glare on the glass made it difficult to get a perfect photo of the clock.
This next one is one of the most favorite cards I have ever made. My first attempt at a side step card! This one was so much fun to make, and plus I love Halloween! I even incorporated acetate into this card, to be different. I made another of these that I love, also, but I don't want to bore anyone with posting two types of the same card. The images on the card are from Stamping Dragon Designs.
And, since this post is for the Kenny K DT call, and Christmas is fast approaching, it's only fitting that I show you my Christmas cards for this year. Sometimes I think simple is the way to go. Some images and papers go so great together, that you just don't need or want to add a lot of "extras." I love Kenny K's new Santa image and found this awesome glittered cardstock that I knew would look great with Santa. The layout, I felt, was perfect for Santa and the papers, so all I really needed was a little extra "bling" from the silver Christmas tree trim.
Now, the waiting begins. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get to be one of Kenny K's Krafty Girlz!
Thank you, Kenny K, for the opportunity to apply!

Rick St Dennis Is In The House!
It's challenge time, again, at Stamping With The Dragon. and we have a special sponsor, with a special prize, this time!
We're being sponsored by none other than Rick St Dennis, and he's giving the winner an awesome prize! There will only be ONE LUCKY WINNER for this week's challenge. That winner will receive a Once in a Lifetime Digital Sheet of the 3 dragons images used by the Design Team, as well as several other images that fit the theme.
For those of you not familiar with Rick St Dennis, here is his bio:
Now a much collected pen and ink artist brings his art to DIGI-Stamps!
Designer of over 100 theatrical productions, Rick St Dennis is also the author of 4 books on decorative painting and contributor to at least a dozen national magazines on crafts and art. He has taught design at the college level as well as seminars and classes across the USA and Canada. He is one of a handful of designers to have designed TWO productions of AIDA, Verdi's massive Egyptian opera spectacle. Currently living in the quiet beach community of Seal Beach, California he writes restaurant reviews and theater reviews between assignments for web designs, logos and creating art for local shows. Rick has appeared on such TV shows as Home Matters with Susan Powell, Aileen's Crafts and others. He was Crafts editor for Country Folk Art Magazine and sells his artwork nationally through galleries and shows. Among numerous awards he has won a presidential commendation in 1976 for his contributions to the bicentennial year including the design of the west coast premier of William Grant Still's opera BAYOU LEGEND. His drawings and paintings are in the collections of Diana Ross, Sandy Duncan, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jacqueline Onnasis amongst others.
Our challenge theme is fantasy. Rick St Dennis gave the DT three awesome dragon images to work with, for our fantasy theme. I was soooo excited, too, because I've always loved fantasy themed things, so this was right up my alley!
For my DT project, I decided to try something new, and alter a clock. This is my first attempt, so I was a little nervous about it, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.
My friend, Dan, loves fantasy themed things as much, if not more, than I do. So I thought this clock would make a perfect Christmas gift for him!
I used this awesome dragon image called, "Late Knight Snack," by Rick St Dennis, and colored him with my Promarkers. Glitter and sparkle were adding to the image with a Clearstar Gelly Roll pen. The blue DP is embossed with silver stars and seems to fit perfect with the image and theme. The silver numbers are cut out and then matted on green cardstock.
This was such a fun project to make, and I love how it turned out!

I used this fun new snowman image from CocoDingo. The image is colored with Promarkers. All three papers are from my stash. The ornament paper behind the snowman is glittered and embossed, for sparkle and texture. I also used a clearstar gelly roll pen on the snow and snowman, to give extra sparkle. This gorgeous new metallic gold ribbon trim is from the craft department at Walmart. I've printed and cut out this fantastic digi Christmas ticket by Miss Cutie Pie, punched a hole in it with my Big Bite and mounted it to the card with foam mounting tape, for dimension. Let's Take A Sleigh Ride
Once, again, It's Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images!
This week's featured image is Sleigh Ride. This image makes a wonderful Christmas card. I love the detail Shelly put into the image when she created it. (You can have it for your very own! Get it here, at Shelly's Images!) While you're there, check out Shelly's other great images.I colored the image with Promarkers. Sparkle was added using a Clearstar gelly roll pen. The paper is from my stash, from an old DCWV Christmas stack. The ribbon is from my stash as well. The poinsetta flower is actually a flower brad, from Spare Parts. The Christmas ticket is a digi. I can't remember the name of the company where I got it now, but will look in my files and update the post if I can find the name of the creator. (Gotta hate when you print out an image and then forget to label it!) My card fits the sketch at Truly Scrumptious, at Sparkle Dreams, and at Create4Fun. This card is for my awesome friend, Dan.

Hurry over and play along with us! You wont want to miss these fantastic prizes that are up for grabs!

There are some great prizes, and two fabulous Grand Prizes, for those of you that use an image from Stamping Dragon and Dragons Lair Designs! You really really are going to want to play along for your chance to win!
Now that I have the big challenge reminder out of the way, I have a new card to show you. I wanted to go simple and show you what a pretty card you can make sometimes, just by using a sentiment and acetate. The sentiment is from Christmas Sentiment pack 1 from Stamping Dragon Designs.
I used white cardstock from my stash, and used Vellum tape to attach a pretty piece of pre printed Christmas acetate, to the front of the card. Then matted and attached the sentiment. Very simple, but pretty!
I hope this has given the beginning card makers out there some ideas and a little encouragement. IF you've always wanted to try card making but felt like you might not have the knack for it, please do jump in and try, with something simple like this. Everyone has to start somewhere!
I'm sending this card to my cousin and her fiance, for Christmas.

Show Off Your Diamonds
It is challenge day over at Craft Your Passion. This week, we want to see your diamond fold card. I know it sounds hard, but it really isn't! There are several variations of the diamond fold card. And they are simple to make, trust me. If you've never made one before, this is your chance to try something new.Play along with us, for your chance to win an image of your choice from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and CocoDingo. They have some cute images to choose from!
I decided to keep my diamond fold card simple, with no embellishements, to showcase the card style. The fancy folding makes this card so unique, and it was fun to make. The DP and cardstock are from my stash. I had never used this DP before, till now. The Santa image is from Lauretta's Digital Stamps and is colored with Promarkers. I added white flocking to his beard, to make it soft and fuzzy.

Here Comes Santa Clause
Wow, can you believe how fast time is flying by?! The radio stations here are already playing Christmas music, and the stores are putting out their Christmas decorations.
I'm already in the Christmas spirit and have been working on Christmas projects. Today, I have a cute little ornament to show you. The image is Santa Clause and he is from Shelly's Images. You can pick up Santa in store today only for a special sale price! Check out her other fabulous images, too, while you're there!
I made this ornament from an empty ribbon spool. I punched two scalloped circles and attached one to each side of the spool. Santa is colored with Promarkers, with glittery sparkle added to his cap and beard with a Clearstar gelly roll pen. I used some fancy red beaded ribbon trim from my stash (never used before now), and attached it under the edges of the ribbon roll, with glue dots. Santa was punched using a smaller circle, to fit inside the scallop. I found this awesome red, green & white braided trim at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be perfect to trim around the outside of the ornament. I used red plastic beaded christmas tree trim tied around the inside of the spool, to make the loop for hanging. I tried to fit this to the sketch at Card Positionin Systems, except mine is round instead of square.
I am entering this ornament in the following challenges:

Let's Double Up at Craft Your Passion
First off, I want to thank everyone who played in our Anything Goes challenge, last week, at Craft Your Passion. We had a record number of entries! It's so awesome to see so many of you joining us, and getting to hop over to your blogs and see your creations. be sure you check out the winner's announcement, to see if you're the lucky winner of last week's challenge. I hope you all will play with us, again, this week.
Now, let's talk about this week's challenge theme!
This week, we are calling, "Double Anything." We want to see double on your project. It could be two patterned papers, two of the same embellishment, two images. The possibilities are endless! Come on over and join us at Craft Your Passion, and show us your doubles! You could win an image of your choice from CocoDingo and Lauretta's Digital Stamps. While you're there, check out the creative inspiration of the rest of the design team. They're all talented ladies and they have some beautiful creations to show you!
Here is my take on "Double Anything." I'm using the sketches from Simpley Betty, Paper Pretties and Hanna and Friends as my card layout. The image is by CocoDingo and is colored with Promarkers. I've used three patterned papers, all from my stash. The holes are punched using a double hole punch by Stampin Up. I threaded some brown jute through the holes and tied on two purple buttons.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Sketch at Paper Pretties

Let's Play Some Reindeer Games
Let me introduce you to this cute little reindeer! Meet Prancer. He's this week's featured image, at Shelly's Images. Isn't he awesome?! What's even more awesome, is that he is on sale for a special price, today only, in the Shelly's Images store. Prance on over there and get him for yourself, and while you're there, check out the other fabulous images Shelly has to offer.
I wanted to try something different, this time. I seen a couple of challenges for "All white, except color on your image." I hadn't ever tried anything like it before, and the idea intrigued me, so I sat down and started creating, and this is what I came up with. I wasn't sure I'd like the concept, but I have to admit that I'm really liking how it came out. I used the sketches at Fussy and Fancy, Hanna and Friends, Fairymoon, and Inktegrity, for my card layout. This card also fits the sketch at Sarah Hurley. The background is embossed with stripes. The center snowflakes are felt snowflake ribbon. I colored Prancer with Promarkers and matted him onto a paper lace doily, then attached it to the card. The corners of the card are glittered sticker paper that I recycled from an empty sheet of stickers. I used snowflake charms in the corners of the lace doily, then finished the card off by adding sparkle to the image and the lace doily, with crystal stickles.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Just What I've Been Waiting For! Bugaboo Is Having A DT Call!
Whooo Hooo! I'm so excited! Bugaboo Stamps is having a Design Team Call! I've been waiting for this, because I love Jodie's images, and I've always wanted a chance to be on the Bugaboo DT. Stella is my favorite Bugaboo persona but I absolutely love them all. To apply, we are being asked to submit three projects. One using a Bugaboo image, and two others.
I chose this card as my Bugaboo submission. It features Stella, my favorite Bugaboo lady. She cracks me up. I made this card back in August for a back to school challenge. All of Jodie's images are fun to work with.
My second card is another of my favorites, and my first attempt at a side step card. Halloween is one of my my favorite holidays and I had so much fun creating this card. I ended up doing two side step cards for Halloween, because they turned out so cute. The images for this card are by Stamping Dragon Designs, except for the skull--Which is a preprinted piece of acetate.
My last card is a favorite because of the striking color scheme and the overall elegance. The piano image is from Lauretta's Digital Stamps.
Now, I just have to keep my fingers crossed, and hope that Jodie will email me (lunalayercakemall@yahoo.com) and tell me I made it through to round 2.

Remember The Memories
It's time for a new challenge at Ooh La La. The theme this fortnight is "Remember, Remember." My card reminds us of how the kids were babies, but then they grow up. I chose to use the angelic baby image, framed in a film strip, because memories are are the photographs our of minds. This sweet baby image, as well as the patterned paper, are from Ooh La La's Kiddiwinks CD. (This CD, as well as many others, are available in Ooh La La Creations shop.)
I trimmed the edges of the filmstrip with gold string pearls, and added petite cream colored flowers. This card fits the simple sketch at Priscilla's Styles.
This turned out to be such a sweet card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
